Boomer Sooner!!

haha

Tim Tebow = 1,432,219 season tickets next year. Who wouldn't pick him in the 1st round with those projections?

yeah, a tricky one

are they one cardinal or is that plural for something?

they're the Cardinal

the color. Not the bird.

I always thought it was Cardinal(s) regardless of it being a color

Why would it be singular anyway? There’s more than one player right? The Browns are the Brown(s). New Zealand Black(s), Cincinnati Red(s)…and they call themselves a University…. hah!

I changed it so Viliphed wouldn’t have to painfully look at it with an (s)… good catch.

well

Harvard is the Crimson, ’Bama is the Crimson Tide. I guess the singular name promotes solidarity or some such.

It's a long and complicated story...

They used to be the Stanford Indians but then the University employees and students of Native American ancestry complained and they changed the mascot. A vote was held amongst the student body who picked the candidate backed by Leland Stanford Jr. University Marching Band (yes, that band), a robber baron.

The regents did not react kindly to this selection as Leland Stanford Sr. (Stanford’s father) was one of the “robber barons” of the Union Pacific Railroad. Thus the regents selected Cardinal the color because they thought nothing controversial would come of it. Of course, this backfired when the Stanford Marching Band decided to create a mascot, the always dancing and usually drunk Redwood Tree.

And that’s how the Stanford’s sports teams were named after a color and the dancing tree became a mascot. And it’s yet another reason I heart the Stanford Marching Band.

I hope Houston can somehow come back but it’s not looking good for them

Run game coordinator?

Does Stanford have two different offensive coordinators then?

Yes Drew K, Tim Tebow will get picked in the first round.

Gerhart

He’s one of those players where no matter what your needs are for your team, you should draft him.

by Amigo on Dec 31, 2009 12:24 PM PST reply actions

Fumbled twice already in this game

is that typical for him?

Yes Drew K, Tim Tebow will get picked in the first round.

by smileyman on Dec 31, 2009 12:44 PM PST up reply actions

Not typical for him, but typical for Oklahoma in forcing fumbles. He recovered his own fumble for a TD though.

by Amigo on Dec 31, 2009 12:55 PM PST up reply actions

No...

And both of those were punched out, much like how Frank Gore fumbled against Seattle.

by sigma on Dec 31, 2009 12:55 PM PST up reply actions

OK

I haven’t had a chance to see much of him in action so I didn’t know.

Just saw his interview though and the kid has vampire teeth.

Yes Drew K, Tim Tebow will get picked in the first round.

Anyone else in favor...

Of driving down to Palo Alto and signing the entire Stanford O-Line?

big turnover

why did he wrap him up if he was blocked into the returner???? pretty fishy

dumb penalty

oklahomas got their number right now but trying to give away the momentum they’ve had the whole 2nd half.

I hate to say it....

but Toby Gerhart – I just don’t see it.

Luckless

Oklahoma did not have to respect Pritchard at all. its similar to what Gore had to endure earlier this year.Defenses stacked the box, 9 people at some times, because without Luck, our entire offensive philosophy revolved around Gerhart. With Oklahoma so focused on Gerhart, a top D in the country, his play was pretty impressive, and had many runs where he showcased the brute force and natural talent he has.

With Luck I have no doubt the Carinal would have won the game, and Gerhart would have gone Beserk.

I wasn't basing that...

…only on the bowl game. He’s a terrific college player. I’m talking about for next level.

here's a question

with a win over mizzu (which looks right) does navy get recognized at all in preseason polls?
