The 49ers find themselves playing as sloppy as they have all season in just about every aspect of the game. They took a 7-0 lead after using up all three timeouts before the first quarter was halfway through (Coach Singletary, Mike Nolan salutes you). After forcing a Seahawks punt, an absolutely unnecessary attempted reverse on the punt return led to a Seahawks touchdown, tying up the game. The 49ers are about to punt, so the defense is going to have to step up here.

You are SO right!
But now the game is essentially starting over. The Niners need to forget about the first half and go out and win the second half. If they can play 30 minutes of football where they DONT shoot themselves repeatedly in the foot, they can win this GAME! The reverse was on the coaches. That was as dumb as it gets. You have a person fielding punts who can hardly catch, and you want him to run the reverse? S T U P I D! Other than that, the Niners have shut down their running game for the most part, and if the Hawks are one dimensional, we should be blitzing to get to Hasellback.
This Half is going to say a lot about who Alex Smith is. His first Quarter was very much like his career. Some REALLY REALLY bad and some pretty good. Smith needs to come out this half and march the team down the field for a TD! Not a FG, but a TD! If they can get up on the SeaHags, they will start remembering that they have nothing to play for and will fold!!!

We have gotten some bad calls
And there are some calls they have blatently missed. The Pass Interference on Delanie Walker was just totally missed! Niners need to conserve those T.O.‘s this half. I have a weird feeling this is going down to the wire. If they KNOW Hasellback is going to throw, what is the defensive coorinator waiting for? Bring the house and HIT Hassle-Back-Broke! I few solid hits on him and he will also remember that they are playing for essencially NOTHING! It is a shame that the Niners didn’t capitalize on the Hawks mistakes, but the second half is a must win half.

Hopefully now that Smith is throwing well out from under center, we might be able to mix it up with the run a little more…

I still like the call to go for it. Its challenging your offense to step up and make plays. And they did, the refs just screwed us hardcore. And if you can’t get 1 yard on offense, you don’t deserve to win.

One of the most amateur coaching displays I can imagine so far from Sing……blowing a TO to save 5 yards on the opening play of the game? Ridiculous. I like the guy but he has a lot to learn about using TOs.
Only ones having a worse game are the refs…….that spot on 3rd down for Crabs was brutal, lack of a challenge maybe even worse.

nice catch on the TD, but they should be winning this game! Lets hope that the stupidity has ended and that the Niners can now find a way to regroup. Also has everyone noticed our defense has been pressuring Hallebeck quite well. There’s going to be several more sacks or an INT in this game by our defense.

Wow, what a terrible first half. Between the Niners being stupid, and the refs being in Seattle’s jock, just not a good half all around. Luckily Seattle is terrible. Niners will need to come out and assert themselves in the second half.
