Why can’t teams throw up passes that are basically punts against us? Way to go Rodgers.
Gimme 1 round!
Other teams need moar Shaun Hill.
I don't know about that, to the groin.

It was incredibly unprofessional
but one of the great overheard sideline quotes. “It came down like a punt!”
Gimme 1 round!

I should have known
He’s the guy who is dominating his man for a half. Crabtree my ass!!
Black Sand Ninja Here!!
Ban the Trolls, FF find a new home!!
Ravens have two stud tackles
Oher on the right and Gaither on the left. Both of them really young and both signed for a long time. They’re in really good shape there.
Yes Drew K, Tim Tebow will get picked in the first round.
no kidding
Wow, I hope crabs can catch air!
Black Sand Ninja Here!!

Wow, Clay Matthews.
Now THERE’S a linebacker worthy of being drafted in the first round. Man, he’s putting on a show tonight.
"For the love of god drop the FF talk everyone."
You could also have taken
Cushing or Laurinitis. Laurinitis is still flying under the radar to most but having him on my fantasy team he’s been an absolute monster.
Gimme 1 round!

I know, I know..
It’s sort of annoying how the most ‘NFL ready’ prospect turns out to have the worst rookie season of any LB drafted in the first day so far.

I know, I'm talking about this last draft.

This is about Aaron Curry lol

This must be some sort of record for PI calls in a game.
Seattle should trade Marcus Trufant to Baltimore, he’d fit right in.
"For the love of god drop the FF talk everyone."
Needless to say, Aaron Rodgers is very good.
That offensive line is putrid.
"For the love of god drop the FF talk everyone."
Meh, I think Rodgers wouldn't have been as successful in SF.
He was in a good situation in GB – Watch from one of the best, and put on a team with great WRs.

That line has gotten much better the last couple weeks
they had key injuries early on.
Their ascension happened just in time for our game.
Yes Drew K, Tim Tebow will get picked in the first round.
Did anyone watch the Saints/LOLSKINS game yesterday?
The Saints win probability was as low as 1% at one point late in the game. Leave it to the LOLSKINS to blow it.
"For the love of god drop the FF talk everyone."
I watched it
It was a great game, but the ‘Skins just couldn’t hang on.
Yes Drew K, Tim Tebow will get picked in the first round.
Drew Brees is a machine.
Some sort of passing turret. His stats are incredible.

by Fearless Frog on Dec 7, 2009 8:02 PM PST up reply actions
He had a perfect QB rating against the Pats
how does that happen?
And to think that SD thought he was a bust.
Yes Drew K, Tim Tebow will get picked in the first round.
I'm not so sure they thought he was a bust,
rather than gambling that Phillip Rivers would be a better longterm option. I mean, Brees was an All-Pro and all, but wasn’t his shoulder totally shredded during his last season there? I remember reading reports that it just wasn’t healing properly and started fraying and a bunch of other stuff. That’s why Miami didn’t sign him I thought.

Just looked it up
He had a shoulder injury at the end of ‘05, was selected to the Pro Bowl but couldn’t play because of the injury. San Diego offered him a paltry $2 million with a contract that was heavily based—basically a no-confidence vote.
He said no thanks, if I’m the franchise QB pay me franchise QB money. San Diego declined to do so and he ended up in NO with a $10 million per year contract.
Yes Drew K, Tim Tebow will get picked in the first round.
Jermichael Finley is pretty good.
I wonder why he fell that far in the draft.
"For the love of god drop the FF talk everyone."
2 most penalized teams in the league
the Packer’s CBs have that little arm tug thing that they do on WRs. Most of the time it’s not enough to get noticed, but the officials are paying attention this game.
Yes Drew K, Tim Tebow will get picked in the first round.
Yeah, that's true.
Woodson and Harris used to get away with that all the time in 2007.

i feel bad for tramon williams
he actually looks like he could be a good CB but all these PIs

Ravens right back it in.
Flacco needs to stop looking he’s a rookie all over again.
"For the love of god drop the FF talk everyone."
Wow, was that footage of Mark Brunell in a Packers uniform?
"For the love of god drop the FF talk everyone."
I <3 Brunell.
Got a soft spot for Huskies in the NFL.

Yeah, he was balling.
Did pretty well in the preseason with the Saints too last I checked

Ed Reed looks a black Santa.
Long beard is loooooong.
"For the love of god drop the FF talk everyone."
I don't really understand why teams would ever try to build a defense-first philosphy.
The modern NFL favors high octane passing attacks, and considering how one sided the rules are, DBs are naturally left at an inherent disadvantage. Why go against the grain? All the great teams in the NFL have excellent scoring offenses that make their average defenses look better than they are.
"For the love of god drop the FF talk everyone."
Because if a WR launches himself over a DB like that to try to play the ball, it's called gutsy.
The DB lays a finger on the WR when the ball is barely in the general vicinity, and he gets tagged with a PI. Both players have an equal right to the ball and to not be interfered with, but there’s a huge double standard.

taylor mays
will get more helmet to helmet and pass interference penalties in his rookie season than any safety has ever gotten in their entire career

I'm convinced that Taylor Mays is a dirty head-hunter on top of being a marginal football player.
He’d make a fantastic Raider.
"For the love of god drop the FF talk everyone."
by Fearless Frog on Dec 7, 2009 8:19 PM PST up reply actions
I <3 Taylor Mays just not in coverage
His best hit on Penn State was that helmet to helmet shot… But in reality the Penn guy was ducking to try to avoid the hit and turned it into that. Mays would have ripped right through his chest had he not.
Mays should be converted to an OLB so he doesn’t have to cover anything besides a RB or TE
Gimme 1 round!

It's an old mentality
“Offense wins games, defense wins championships”.
Same with the run-first mentality as well (even if 4 of the top 5 runners this year play for teams with losing records).
Yes Drew K, Tim Tebow will get picked in the first round.
It seems bizarre to me.
An offense can make a defense look good. If an offense is consistent in moving up the field and scoring on almost every position (at least a FG), defenses benefit from playing ahead by being allowed to pin their ears back and pass-rush, gamble on interceptions and fumble-forcing big hits, try out creative blitzes, etc…
But I haven’t seen a stout defense helping out an offense. If an offense is inept, it’s going to remain that way no matter how ridiculous the defense is playing. The 2001 Ravens defense was killer but that didn’t change the offense from barely scoring touchdowns every few weeks. The 2005 Seahawks had the #1 scoring offense, and the defense led the league in sacks with 50 despite not having a single individual player have over 9.

Exhibit A is our lovely Niners
Great to good defense.
Mediocre to good (though much improved) offense.
And we have a losing record.
Yes Drew K, Tim Tebow will get picked in the first round.
Yeah.
49ers defense is great, but that won’t change Shaun Hill from being unable to score.

Wow. I’ve never seen so many terrible pass interference calls / noncalls.
I don't know about that, to the groin.
That one on Baltimore was legit
the firs move was ok, but that second one he wrapped his arm around the defender.
Yes Drew K, Tim Tebow will get picked in the first round.
Oh, there have been some decent calls, but a ridiculous number of ticky-tack calls to go with them. There are football players. They’re going to touch each other. It’s like every time two people graze each other down the field it’s a flag.
And then there were a couple obvious calls that didn’t get thrown.
I don't know about that, to the groin.

Well at least my Fantasy team is kicking ass
Come on Baltimore D, get me some more points.

For 267 yards
Its time the NFL adopts the college rule on PI, 15 yard max penalty.
"Good evening Blazer fans, wherever you may be!"-Bill Schonely
That makes it advantageous for any DB that got burned to go and intentionally trip up the WR to prevent the TD, though

Not really the guys need to clean up their play
There should be more PI calls vs giving up the TD I would trip someone that burnt me in a heart beat.

Oh, even if that hit on Greg Jennings was dirty a while ago..
They only called it because Jennings whined. Officiating should never be influenced by players opinions of what happened.

Okay
How are the Ravens going to screw this one up?
"Good evening Blazer fans, wherever you may be!"-Bill Schonely
I told you
They’d find a way to refuse the gift the refs gave them.
"Good evening Blazer fans, wherever you may be!"-Bill Schonely
Flacco is playing a terrible game.
And of all the young, upstart QBs in the NFL, I’ve been impressed with him the least.
Yet I don’t have a doubt in my mind I’d want him on the Seahawks in an instant.
"For the love of god drop the FF talk everyone."
Really? I’ve been impressed with him the most, probably. That team is struggling, but he’s having a pretty nice sophomore season.
I don't know about that, to the groin.

The game may be over, but the refs have called PI three times in the last ten minutes. Man, this is ugly.
GROUGTHINK ALERT

I just got called for pass interference because my car was icy this morning.
