Atogwe a Niner in '10?
If he does decide the undergo surgery this will likely lesson some of his appeal in the FA market and if he can't get a deal done with St. Louis (as evidenced by his Franchis tag this year), with his connections to Singletary, I could see SF as a landing place for him.
I like Goldson but I'd love to see Atogwe in Cherry Red and Gold!

But
His quasi connection with Singletary might be a good reason for him to stay away from the 49ers.

CBA
I think that if the CBA fails to be reworked, he’ll still be considered a restricted FA, which means St. Louis could have him at least for another year for relatively cheap.

I'm not so sure
he’s already been through the RFA period (two seasons ago) and was franchised last season. I think he’s eligible for UFA regardless since he’s already been through the RFA stages, but I could be wrong.
Either way, I’d like to see Atogwe as a 49ers, he’s from my neck of the woods originally (Windsor, ON).
Alex Smith may have been the #1 overall pick but he still can’t tell why kids love Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

The thing is...
… the CBA dictates the time a player has to be in the league to be considered a UFA. I’m still a little fuzzy on it, but from what I gather: the player has to be in the league for five or six seasons before eligibility of UFA-ness.

He won't come here.
If he breaks up with his daughter he will be running hills all day long.

Atogwe is trash goldsons younger and have more upside by far.
The only thing I’d like to see other then goldson returning as the starter in 2010 is eric berry or taylor mays right there. But Id actually rather michael lewis step down and give way to one of the 3

You're nuts
Atogwe has forced many more turnovers in his career than Goldson and is a true playmaker.
And why would you rather see Lewis step down?
He’s better than Goldson.
What we've got here is a failure to communicate.

Are you crazy?
Atogwe’s one of the best indeed. He causes so many fumbles, it’s unbelievable. Goldson is trash. He tries to hunt down people with his head/shoulder and misses. Atogwe is the real deal. He’ll even be in Sing’s good graces, as he’s dating his daughter.
