Cardinals vs. Steelers: Super Bowl Open Thread

Super Bowl XLIII
Arizona Cardinals (12-7) vs Pittsburgh Steelers (14-4)
3:00 PM PST
Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, FL (NBC)
Well folks, here were are. The culmination of a long season has resulted in a somewhat surprising Super Bowl matchup. The Steelers have always been expected to be solid, but I think it's safe to say not many people picked the Cardinals to get to the Super Bowl. They were expected to be solid and win the division, but particularly after their late season swoon, this was not the expected result.
Up until today I was struggling to decide who I'd prefer win. In a perfect world we'd have a tie and the 49ers would be slotted in as champs. That seems only fair after all. However, in having to choose, I'd prefer the Cardinals. The obvious argument is that I don't want the Steelers to get to title #6. The other argument is that a Super Bowl win by Arizona gives further glory to the NFC West. The West has gotten crapped on the last couple of years and a Super Bowl title would certainly look good.
Of course, I also think Pittsburgh will pull this out but I still am pulling for Arizona. We'll see how it plays out. I actually think it'll be a decent game.

what?
why does everyone want big red to win?
If you had a lineup of 9 Jack Custs who hit(Cust career average) .239 AVG, .382 OBP, and .475 SLG, then your team would score 6.12 runs per game-totalling to 991runs a season. The 08 rangers lead the majors in runs score with 901.
cuz noone wants Pittsburgh to get to 6 before us

I still don’t get what the big deal is with that. The total for some other team seems to make zero difference as far as my opinion of what my team has done.
But to each his own.

So you’re the reason that another undeserving offensive player won it. Thanks! I’m really sick of seeing defensive players ignored in these farces. As if there was a more important play than Harrison’s 100 yard pick-6.

Poor effort...
on the part of Levi Brown (ARI RT) on that last play.
Pretty pathetic that the Card’s couldn’t stop a 3-man rush. Sacks on Hail Mary-Prevent Defense match-ups make baby Jesus cry.
basically my sentiments
the Cardinals gave the game away with the penalties and that turnover right before half. Plus, there’s no way that Harrison should have gotten all the way before getting tackled. The defense really stepped up in the 2nd half (except for that last drive) and nearly made the difference.

Well Mistakes are a big part of the game.
That is OFTEN the difference in a close game. But your observations are dead on …those mistakes really cost the Cards.
Good game.
Now comes the long cold winter.
