49er's First Ever State of the Franchise
FOOCH'S NOTE 2:05pm: I had been meaning to post this link, so might as well move it to the front page. I'm not sure how much info will really come from this, but I think I'm going to live-blog it anyways. You can watch it live at sf49ers.com.

7pm Feb. 16
"The event will offer an opportunity for fans to hear directly from Team President, Jed York; Head Coach, Mike Singletary; General Manager, Scot McCloughan; and COO, Andy Dolich.
The night will be emceed by the new radio voice of the 49ers, Ted Robinson, who will be making his first appearance for the team behind the microphone.
York will open the event by discussing his new role as President of the Club and speak to the direction of the team’s future and how he sees the franchise getting back to its winning ways. He will also provide insight into the decision making process on hiring Head Coach Mike Singletary and why Coach Singletary is the right person for the job."
Should be a slammin' time!

This would be a fascinating watch....
however it will be from 3am to 4:30am for me in GB. I would love to watch it.
Fooch, is it possible for you to record this and post it on to the site at a later time/date in order that members from outside the US can watch it in full?
If not, will 49ers.com website be re-running it in its entirety or just showing highlights of it?

video
I can’t post the actual video here b/c I believe the NFL doesn’t allow it. However, I’d be shocked if it was not available in archived form at 49ers.com. I’ll keep an eye out and link to any archived version of it.

thanks for the heads up
will be nice to get a news fix finally after the drought we’ve had – I’m still going through withdrawals

Do you realize?...
That 2 head coaches the 49ers have fired since Siefert have had offenses that ranked in the top 5?
Here is a clue: it isn’t Nolan or Singletary.
When the Owner’s son has to hold yet another presser trying to convince they are making the right moves (to which the Owners put same son to fire Daddy’s mistake, while Daddy was hiding to avoid criticism) means they know they screwed it up, just like they the ‘apology’ page they had in the Chron years ago.
Well, we're waiting....

Wait a minute here Mr. Glass-is-Half-Empty, a lot of things are different. First of all you sure haven’t given Singletary any time, are you blaming him for not taking the 49ers to a top 5 offense in half a season? I don’t think you are – and the fact that he is the head coach now is huge.
This press conference tonight is not going to be about apologies. I never got the feeling that the York parents even cared. You can tell Jed York cared the first moment he stepped into the spotlight. This guy is excited. You can tell he loves the team, he’s a competent professional, and he has a new job now that probably has been his dream job since day one. Personally, I think he meant what he said while solidifying Singletary, that this is the last time their season ends in the December.
If you think Singletary’s going to be trying to convince us that he’s made the right moves, and it’s ok, and he desperately wants you to back him … you’ve never listened to Singletary hold a press conference before. It’s time for some ass-kicking.

I've heard a lot of Sing's pressers...
And he’s pretty good at them. His background as a motivational speaker prepared him for this job. I still don’t know who the “cancers” are on this team, and I’ve never seen a motivational speaker drop his pants, so it should be exciting to see what both Jed and Sing come up with for this one.
Well, we're waiting....
