Nnamdi Asomugha reportedly just became the highest paid NFL player (by yearly average) signing a 3 year, 45 million dollar contract. The first two years, $28.5 mil, fully guaranteed!

Are the raiders planning on having him play all 4 DB positions at the same time?

Of course if he can keep shutting down his side of the field, maybe it’s worth it? I’m curious what it does to their cap space.

Maybe Asomugha wanted a longer deal, but the Raiders countered for the same guarantees but a shorter contract? I’d imagine if he had signed a 5 or 6 year deal somewhere else, the bonus would probably be right around that $30M mark.

Ok, the Raiders other signings have complete dogs. But Asomugha is the best damn corner in league, if he isn’t the highest paid defensive player than he ought to be close.
