Around SBN: NFL Roundtable: Which Draft Pick Is Most Likely To Bust?

The folks at Next Season Sports asked me to take part in their mock draft. It was a bit last minute otherwise I would have solicited your opinions. As seen, I went with Raji although Jenkins and Orakpo are available. I was a bit hesitant on taking Raji given his disappearing act a week ago. Should I have gone with Jenkins or Orakpo? Or maybe Jason Smith (Baylor OT)?

I would have definately gone with jenkins

I personally think that if he drops to us, hes a no brainer and a “safer” pick (I use the term safe loosely considering no pick is safe"

Joe and Steve were under the same system for years... don't expect Smith to be super so soon.

Oh wait, that goes against my pick! I can see Jenkins being the safest pick on the board. My hesitance is because of my fandom of Tarell Brown.

Good Job

I would probably be happier with Raji than Jenkins. Raji fills a major hole for us and makes the whole defense better, whereas we already have Clements and Harris starting at CB with Brown and hopefully some of the other young CBs stepping up for the future. But Jenkins is the safer pick, and I would be very happy with Jenkins or Raji. Plus there’s a pretty good chance Raji goes ahead of us if his stock stays at the same level it’s at now; the Packers seem to be pretty interested in him. Either Jenkins of Raji would be a much better choice than Orakpo, though.

Well, the validity of that whole mock went out the window with the first pick. As far as the 49ers choice, I prefer one of the pass-rushers. Everette Brown is my favorite. I just think Raji, although good, isn’t quite in the Casey Hampton class and even he didn’t go this high. In fact, I can’t think of a 34 nose who was taken top 10. Trade down would be an option if the draft did shake out this way.
