Deuce McAllister a Free Agent......

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/nfl/saints/2009-02-17-mcallister-out_N.htm?csp=34

Sure, he’s 31 this year but he’s the workhorse that the 49ers would need, the “tough guy” in two-back smash-mouth system. In 2008, he split snaps with Reggie Bush in 13 games, rushing 107 attempts for 418 yards and 5 TDs, an AVG of 3.9 YPC. He also caught 18 passes for 128 yards and a touchdown. I’d say that’s pretty darn good for the second man in a two-back system. Did I mention no fumbles? Since the Saints drafted Reggie Bush in 2006, Deuce has ran 375 att for 1567 yds and 15 touchdowns in 31 games, an AVG. of 4.2 yds per carry. But he was scheduled to make north of $7 million in New Orleans this year. Just having reconstructive surgery on both knees, could he still be in that ball park? If so, then forget about it, but what else is out there? Anybody got some stats?

I am not necessarily advocating the signing of Deuce, just thought he'd be a good discussion starter... Here's his career stats, for kicks...
