I DISLIKE....NO I HATE...
(I was told once that when writing in an email or post that putting words in bold emphasizes a strong opinion of the matter)
I HATE THE WASHINGTON FREAKIN REDSKINS...THE FORESKINS...THE DEADSKINS AND ALL THAT THEY REPRESENT! AND RIGHT NOW I'M TRYING TO UNDERSTAND HOW A TEAM WITH HARDLY NO CAP SPACE CAN SIGN D.HALL AND A. HAYNEWORTH FOR ALL THE MONEY THAT THEY DID? AND ON TOP OF THAT WHERE IS THE TAMPERING CHARGE? SOMEONE EXPLAIN TO ME HOW THAT WORKS? BECAUSE IF WE(THE 49ERS) MAKE A PHONE CALL WE GET HIT WITH THIS BOGEOUS CHARGE BUT YET SNYDER CAN SIT DOWN WITH HAYNEWORTH'S AGENT AND HAVE A CONTRACT DRAFTED AND READY GO AT 6:00AM EASTER TIME? GET THE HECK OUT OF HERE.....
TO FUEL THIS ANGER IS THE FACT THAT THERE IS LITTLE TO DO ABOUT IT AND I WILL HAVE TO SIT AND WATCH THEM ON T.V EVERY SUNDAY BECAUSE VA LIKES THE REDSKINS.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE 49ERS FRONT OFFICE HEAR MY CRIES THROUGH ALL THE OTHER FANS IN THE WORLD....DONT SIT PAT AND SIGN NO NAME PEOPLE..LETS GET AT LEAST ONE PERSON WHO WE CAN BE EXCITED ABOUT.
(For what it is worth, you have to at least admire a owner who goes out and brings in the guys to win(even if they don't and even if their system sucks).

at your last point
you mean like jerry jones and the cowboys. look at history, you can’t win like that.
WE don’t have to go all out in free agency. as long as we have a good draft day, the 49ers should be fine, even though they have needs at 5 different positions.
oh, and going back to the redskins, who cares, they aren’t going to do anything any ways.
they had a semi-decent year last year, but i don’t see them going anywhere, with a 8-8 or 9-7 record, even though they do have a lot of good players on that team ( I see them going 2-4 in their division). so, they could go ahead and spend all their money on a player that could potentially be a bust.

Riiight.
Spikes playing the pass rushing OLB (which is what the ROLB usually is). You may as well trot Jeff Ulbrich out there and tell him to rush the QB. Spikes’ value right now is as an experienced player who can fulfill his assignment in the middle, freeing up Willis to do his thing.
Spikes does not have the pass rush skills to play rush OLB. Heck, he doesn’t have the physical ability to cover TEs and WRs anymore either as a strong-side OLB.

ok then..
switch parys, and takeo

and..
rotate in lawson on coverage..

Haralson?
He’s a pass rushing OLB NOT a coverage OLB. Spikes is just fine at inside linebacker. I’d rather spend that money elsewhere.

I said..
rotate in lawson on coverage, I’m responding to the main thread

Ray Lewis is one of the very best, he would be worth every penny of a 2 year deal, if we are responding to the main thread.. I did not make this fanpost?

I don't understand...
… what you mean by “rotating into coverage.” You mean by subbing out Lewis or Spikes in favor of Lawson on passing downs?
As it stood last year, Lawson didn’t even see the field on passing downs. My point was that in the base package, with the four LBs you specified, there is a weakness in pass rush if you align Spikes at rush OLB and that there’s a weakness in coverage if he lines up on the other end. He’s basically NOT an OLB.
At this stage in his career, Ray Lewis isn’t much more than an ILB/MLB, either.

c'mon man!
even the fanposter said he wasn’t that serious.. saying Ray Lewis, isn’t much more than an ilb/mlb, is just football nonsense, every NFL football player is laughing at you now.

Okay.
So maybe I misunderstood your sarcasm, if you were being sarcastic?
But in all honesty, Ray Lewis really isn’t anything other than an ILB/MLB.

and really..
..if he was on our team, he would b a plus!

of course..
you don’t understand.
by Josh G and the Shaun Hill band wagon on Feb 27, 2009 10:25 AM PST up reply actions 0 recs
If one person doesn’t understand, maybe it’s the fault of the person who didn’t get it. If multiple people didn’t get it (for example, I don’t get it either), then it might be your comment was confusing.
Obviously, with only one person saying they misunderstood, then it’s easy to think that it’s that person’s fault. You wouldn’t have a way of knowing otherwise. But you can’t just assume that it’s his fault, and throw out comments like, “Of course you don’t understand.” You’ve not been here long, but one thing you should know is that sfgfan is one of the more thoughtful AND intelligent people on this board. So you don’t need to assume he’s attacking you.
I'm thinking but nothing's happening.

Isn’t the Right side the weak side?
and didn’t Takeo play OLB when he was with the Bengals?
Rarely any linebacker can cover a WR

Takeo played Rolb on the strong side when he was on the bengals
by Josh G and the Shaun Hill band wagon on Feb 27, 2009 6:14 PM PST up reply actions 0 recs
Strong-side...
… is generally the side where the TE is, hence it’s more of a coverage LB.

Eh
The way I see it, the Redskins have paid for all their free agent blunders. This seven-year deal is just potentially another one of those. I don’t doubt Haynesworth is a good player, but at seven years and that kind of money? There has to be a point where they pay heavily for it.
Slightly nitpicking, but there was supposedly a lot more evidence against the 49ers than a phone call. If I’m not mistaken, there was a “paper trail” of e-mails in addition to phone conversation(s).

i wasn't totally serious...
I’m sure there was way more evidence against the niners and I wasn’t really serious about everything. I just get tired of seeing teams trying to buy championships…its funny to me and slightly irritating. And I’m not suggesting that the 49ers go out and bring in all big name players but it does feel good to bring in 1 notablly named guy from time to time. Did none of you get excited about Nate? Or Justin? I did and thats all i’m suggesting in this blog…just one. Plug the holes with players who can do it. What was the (Igor!) about? Not even going to comment how I really want.

No need to worry, Dan Snyder’s been trying to buy a Super Bowl since he became owner. It’s not exactly worked out for him yet.
I'm thinking but nothing's happening.

i'm just annoyed by the Skins
mainly because now for the entire offseason i’m going to hear how they locked up 2 of the best defensive players out there and are locks to win the Superbowl this year.
Simply by pulling on both ends, Patrick Willis can stretch diamonds back into coal
by 49erLou on Feb 27, 2009 12:23 PM PST reply actions 0 recs
Yeah, that definitely gets irritating as hell, but the fun part is when everyone goes on record as picking the ’Skins as the Cinderella team, only to watch them go 7-9.
I'm thinking but nothing's happening.

You can set your watch to two annual occurances in the NFL...
1) The Redskins will make “AMAZING OFF SEASON MOVES” such as a new, promising coach, or major FA deals, but will still blow it, and either miss the playoffs, or lose in the first round.
2) The Vikings will blow it at some point in time during the season.
If nothing else stays constant in the NFL, you can always thank the football gods you are not a Redskins or Vikings fan. Futility Defined.
Blind devotion.

settle down now- Singletary's got a VISION
While I appreciate the passion, I don’t think it’s necessary that the Niners spend money on big names just for cheap thrills. Yeah, for some franchises it’s the M.O. and it’s what they got (ie cowgirls, skins..).The Niners are only a couple of good, if not serviceable players away on both sides of the ball, and I honestly believe this. With the division being anyone’s for the taking combined with a cohesive, motivated group on both offense and defense- we got a very good thing going- even by standing pat.
I was one clamoring for the Niners to make a move at Haynesworth, but at the price- the Redskins can have him.

The 9ers succeeded with spending mula once
…it was 94 when they signed deion and everyone to help beat the cowgirls. It’s one of the only times I can remeber of a team winning the SB after getting all of the free agents the spring before. Dallas will not do it and neither will the Buttskins. Look where it has got both teams. Nowhere!
Fans stuck in the 80's are lame. Respect the past, live in the now.

WHY ARE WE YELLING?
why would we want to pay A. Haynesworth 100 mil? good luck with that washington….
If you had a lineup of 9 Jack Custs who hit(Cust career average) .239 AVG, .382 OBP, and .475 SLG, then your team would score 6.12 runs per game-totalling to 991runs a season. The 08 rangers lead the majors in runs score with 901.
