What's left?
Free agency is coming and going, the niners have signed some good free agents that fit the bill (ie spikes, norris, rossum), starting to get burnt out on the whole Warner situation, so I've gone ahead and looked at the potential free agents that the niners should consider signing so that we can close out free agency with a bang and go into the draft to complete the voids.
One guy that stands out and is on everybodys mind is IGOR, yes he is a man that will get attention, and if he doesn't, then he might have his career year as a niner. At 6'6" and weighing 309 he has very good size. He's a local boy having gone to St. Ignatius HS and he's only 26 years old, I say sign him to a 3 year deal.
The next guy the niners should consider signing is Sean Jones and putting him at FS. His numbers have been amazing and I think he has the size to play FS. Goldson is 6'2" 200 lbs. Jones is 6'1" 220 lbs. and with much more skills. He's young at 26 years old, I would like to see him in a niners uniform next year.
The last thing or things that I would hate to see the niners do is grab Warner and/or Houshmandzadeh. The team is fine without them, one is getting up there in age and the other would be overpaid.
I want Igor and Sean to join the niners and I'm wondering if that's truly realistically possible and curious to what you guys think?

I actually like Olshanky better than Canty who we were rumored to have interest in but just signed with the Giants. I dont know much about Sean Jones
Thing A
looks like
the Browns have been almost as bad as us against the deep ball, I dont know how much of that has to do with Jones though.
Thing A
I agree.
I want both guys on the Niners too. Igor would be a solid rock on the line, and Jones has an ability to make turnovers.
Yup
Let’s hope he flick Warner off and use our money towards these too.
Maybe Igor takes a hometown discount, I know he does come back, I saw him on the SI campus once.
MURS for President!!!!!!!
From what I’ve heard from Chargers fans I talk to, Igor had an off year to say the least; the whole defensive line there apparently just did not do great at all. I think he’s still got something in him, though, and I hope we get him though. Go Cats.
I don’t know if we’ll go after Sean Jones, I think he’s more of a strong safety type guy who we don’t need.
And I don’t think you have to worry about Warner, I doubt we’ll get him and even if we did want to get him and both of these guys, I think we could still afford it with the amount of cap space we have.

If we sign Igor
that will complete the loop of SF Catholic schools on the Niners. Strick being from Riordan and Hill from SH it only leaves out the Cherries.
Top Free Agents
OT-Khalif Barnes, Jaguars. Age: 27
OT-Ray Willis, Seahawks. Age: 27
OT-William Tra Thomas, Eagles. Age: 34
DE-Igor Olshansky, Chargers. Age: 27
DE-Demetric Evans, Redskins. Age: 29.
CB-Leigh Bodden, Lions. Age: 27
CB-Ronald Bartell, Rams. Age: 27
CB-Bryant McFadden, Steelers. Age: 27.
S-Sean Jones, Browns. Age: 27
Yeah, much love for Igor, but out of that list my #1 target is definitely Khalif Barnes. I’d like to get someone established on that RT position, so that we don’t have to draft a starter there.

Leigh Bodden is a FA? why no buzz around him at all? I didnt notice if he had a bad year with the Lions last year, but I always thought he was very solid with the Browns. I’ll pass on Khalif Barnes, the guy is a huge reason why the Jags were so disappointing last season.
Thing A
Bodden was burnt toast in Detroit’s Cover “Who” scheme last season. It was an abberation for an otherwise solid corner (see 2007).
I’m not a big fan of Khalif Barnes either, I’d rather the Niners sign Tyson Clabo (restricted FA) and give up their second rounder to do so rather than sign Barnes.
I’d love to see Marvel Smith come to San Francisco, but his health is an issue and we don’t need another Mr. Glass (see Jonas Jennings).

thanks Dre
yea I’m in favor of pretty much any of the non-Barnes tackles (Clabo, Smith, Willis, maaaaybe even Runyan if he comes cheap) and now I really want Bodden, I’m surprised he hasnt been snatched up yet. Seems to me like his bad play is more likely to simply be an abberation than DeAngelo Hall’s poor play with the Raiders and Falcons was.
