Although he is 30, I would still say he is a lock for at least 60 tackles and a couple interceptions (Clements had 63 tackles and 2 INTs last season). When healthy, Lucas has averaged those kind of numbers throughout his career. And as for being healthy, he has only missed 6 games in his 8 year career. I am just seeing what you guys think, I don’t think the Niners should be throwing around anywhere near what they gave to Clements, but if a deal can be made I think Lucas would be a solid addition. It also helps that we don't have any 5'10 WRs with slight attitude problems, so he won't have to worry about getting beat up. With Clements and Lucas on the corners it will give the younger guys a chance to develop their skills. Maybe see if Reggie Smith feels comfortable at free safety, Singletary loves competition for positions and a battle between Goldson and Smith would be interesting. The cornerback and free safety spots are two points of our D that need to be solidified. An alternative to approaching this in free agency would be to hope that Malcolm Jenkins was on the board for us at #10. Would you guys take him?
