Why no Jeff Garcia?

I just learned that the Niners signed Damon Huard to a contract as a back-up QB. At the outset, I figuered this was a harmless signing, then I remembered That Jeff Garcia was available. Why not sign him instead? Don't get me wrong. I have nothing against Damon, but, this is a time that signing the right players fro the team is soooooooo very needed. Truth be told, neither Shaun Hill nor, Alex Smith strikes fear into any of our opponents. But, if we got Jeff, those on the schedule might think twice about notching a win in their column. First off, Jeff is a much better improvement over the 3 current signalcallers on the roster. Secondly, we would have an improvement at the position for a much cheaper price than what we were offering Kurt Warner without having to auction off the whole team. Thirdly, if we still wanted to draft a QB this year, (Most likely Pat White) then the team won't be throwing a baby to the lions by sticking him out on a limb and seeing what happens. (See: Alex Smith) Finally, the cost of Garcia at this point in his career would be minimal as there is no doubt he would more htan likely welcome a 2-3 yr contract as I'm sure he is contemplating retirement soon. My final arguement for getting Jeff lies in the fact that coach Singletary says he wants to run the ball more. Since Garcia is a proven Vet, he will have a better handle on calling a passing audible when needed. His play has shown that when he isn't requiered to be the focal point of the offense, his play excels and his teams perform better. If you disagree, feel free to hit me back. Now, may the discussions begin.
