49ers Sign DE Evans, CIN Expected to Sign O'Sullivan
According to Adam Schefter and NFL.com:
Former Redskins DE Demetric Evans has signed a two-year deal with 49ers worth $3.8 million.

The Bengals are expected to reach agreement with former 49ers starting quarterback J.T. O’Sullivan, who would take the place of Ryan Fitzpatrick, who signed with Buffalo.

FanShot vs. FanPost
Putting it in the FanShot works, but for something like this, either one could work. When you’re talking about a player signing, I think it’s on the fine line where it would be ok to be a FanPost OR a FanShot. Now if you were just posting about JT O’Sullivan going to the Bengals, then it would definitely just be a FanShot.
It’s not entirely clear sometimes, but does that make sense?

no problem
Figured it would be easy for confusion to arise so I wanted to spell it out a little more for everybody wandering through.

freshmen, 1st year
man, the transition has been brutal.
subject to dismissal already.
MURS for President!!!!!!!
dude, dont sweat it
I actually was on academic AND disciplinary probation my freshman year…then left for 5 to join the military, and just came back a year and a half ago. The dorms did me in, I wasnt even close to self-motivated enough then to make myself go to class regularly or turn down a weds. night party. You probably feel like youve dug yourself a huge hole, you’d be amazed how quickly your GPA can rebound and how easy most classes can be once you get the hang of it. Dont be afraid to take advantage of your TA’s and academic advisors though, if you need info or advice feel free to hit me up too-srmccall@ucdavis.edu. I’m actually having a kinda rough quarter too, and I got some serious catch-up reading to do over the next couple weeks. Good luck with finals, bro.
Thing A
good luck JTO
don’t forget to take your magical UPS drawing board/marker with you
Simply by pulling on both ends, Patrick Willis can stretch diamonds back into coal
Eh.. Boring...
49ers need a pass rush.
Either someone who can get some sacks, or a big nose tackle that can help create some sacks.
Not necessarily a bad signing, but they’re seemingly not making any improvements.
Their signings have all been lame so far.
I wish they had someone who knew what they were doing in charge of free agent signings.

Why would anyone pay money to J.T. O’Sullivan when QBs like Byron Leftwich and Kyle Boller are just sitting there?
JAI HO!
I think it's about self perception and timing.
Teams right now are just trying to fill out their rosters for upcoming minicamp before and after the draft. No one envisions O’Sullivan, including himself, as a starter right now, especially if Mike Martz isn’t around. So he’s probably the most willing of those three to sign a small contract as Palmer’s backup.
Leftwich and Boller, or at least their agents, may still be marketing themselves as potential starters and may want to be paid as such. No team is going to take that kind of chance on those two, not yet at least. They’re gambling that some team will get desperate and sign them. Teams are gambling that they will wait so long that their demands will finally fall.
I dunno, if their agents are royally screwing them over then.
Totally get what you’re saying though. I just find it odd that O’Sullivan and Orlovsky can get contracts, while better QBs cannot
JAI HO!
Screwed
As long as they keep thinking they’re starters (if that is indeed what’s going on) they’re going to be screwing themselves. While either MAY be a starter in the near future, at some point you kind of have to bite and just take a one year deal, hoping that one year will provide you an opportunity to showcase yourself again.
JTO has experience in Zampese's offense
Zampese runs a Martz-esque offense so JTO’s experience under Martz is probably the big reason.
Don't sweat it. I'm illiterate.
