I'm something of an insomniac, so when I sleep, it's not for long. but, this dream I had was simply too good to keep to myself. Id like to know what you think.
In my dream I was watching the post draft special, and Mel Kiper and Todd McShay were having their usual tit for tat on the 49'ers gaffe in the the draft.(Coincidently we traded down from #10 with the Broncos who wanted Mark Sanchez) For this we got their #18 pick and their 2nd rd pick as well which we used to acquire Jason Smith from Alabama @#18 and Pat White from West Virginia@#16 in the second. Suddenly, Breaking news interupts the tet a tet between Kiper and McShay. It appears that Donovan McNabb has had enough of Philly. Even with his shades on, the look of digust eminates from his face and body posture. Dead into the mic he says,"I have given as much to this team as I can. All I have asked in return is a couple weapons to make it better. Yet, these guys won't be satisfied till I'm dead. Get me the hell out of here!" Apparently, the Eagle's stuck to their guns and drafted all defense as they are want to do,And McNabb said he wanted out FAST!
My heart raced as the next face to come into view was Mark Clayton going over the few teams ln the running for D-Mc. The Niners, currently had the upper hand in talks as we were willing to give Philly our 2010 1st rd, a conditional 4th rd, ( that turned into our 2nd rd depending on performance) and Alex Smith's re-structured contract. I was so excited my girlfriend woke me up for fear it was a nightmare!
Damn those significant others! But, it got me to thinking.....If such a scenerio happened, what would you do?
Here's my questions:
1) Would you pull the trigger on this deal?
2) Do you think the price is too high for an aging QB like D-Mc?
Myself, I wouldn't hesitate in the slightest bit. I'd give Philly the keys to the city if necessary to pull off that trade in half a heartbeat. but, i want to know how you out there feel? Please feel free to hit me back!
Till later, May all your dreams end as you see them!
1a) Would you pull the trigger on such a trade? 2a) Is the price too high for McNabb?
