Draft Day Worries

usually I look forward to the draft. But as we get closer to saturday, I am starting to get nervous. And really because of the 10th pick. Certainly the 10th pick has the possibility of being a good or great player. But more likely the player will be serviceable at best or even a bust. And even the player is a bust, its not as bad as having the #1 and busting. Hopefully everything with players picked works out. maybe the guy they pick will be a HOF. or maybe they trade back and get a bunch of good guys. or not and its a total train wreck

Actually, I am starting get nervous about the new uniforms. There is a new draft every year. But these uni's are permanent or semi-permanent. And man I hope they don't screw it up. This recent post got me anxious.

The draft can be redone next year....the jersey - we're stuck with it. Anyone else feelin this?

The draft can be redone next year….the jersey – we’re stuck with it.

That’s what I was thinking the other day. However, the front office has made pretty good decisions in the past on uniform changes. Of course, I don’t think the Yorks were involved with even the most recent change. Hopefully their marketing group (which is probably the group spearheading the uniform’s development/design) has even ONCE poked their faces around a 49ers forum post (ANYWHERE) regarding uniform changes.

Basically, my long winded way of saying, yes I’m a little worried, but I trust the Yorks with this.

I think the Unis will be fine

I expect them to bring back the old red, and something closer to the old tan/gold. My bet is that it is similar to the throwbacks but sadly I think they’ll go with solid red socks instead of the stripes, maybe no stripes on the sleeves, and they might keep some black in there (I hope not). Overall I think the look will be pretty similar to what we have today – but with the colors tweaked.

ok I'm formulating my official guess as to what the jerseys will look like

I might even try to ’shop something later on…

I think the jerseys will be the classic red with white numbers, but the numbers will have a gold outline and a black drop shadow like the current unis. I think the pants will be a gold that is at least closer to the old tan but there will be something different about the stripes – maybe they will be narrower than the stripes on the classic uni or they will include black instead of white. The helmet will include a logo like the current logo but with the updated color scheme. My hope is the pants and helmet have matching red-white-red stripes but I fear we’ll be seeing some black in there. I can’t decide what they’ll do with the facemask but I think they’ll switch back to gray. They’ll keep the stripes and logo on the sleeve as they are now, with the TV numbers up on the shoulders.

In essence you take the uni template we have now and add in the old colors. Pretty much a mash-up of the two versions.

I don't know redoing the draft next year.

Every pick is to important this year. It would be a waste of time and money and having to start all over again next year. The first 4/5 picks have to be solid. They got be to starting or close to be starting.
