He's the Sheets!
FA signee Kory Sheets, why wasn't he drafted? Fastest timed running back at the combine? Scored plenty of TD's in college. Will challenge Rossum as a return man on special teams AND a good change of pace running back. Speed kills on a football field. A major coup of a free agent signing for the 49er front office. If he and that huge right tackle from Ohio State can make the team, it could pay huge dividends in the future.
Could be another major PLAYMAKER for the red and gold!

He ran a third fastest by .02, 4.47
But is was mentioned somewhere he was timed at 4.36 at maybe his pro-day?
Here’s a link to his scouting report:

I am looking forward to seeing Boone at RT.
He and Rachal would be two angry men on the right side. With them leading the way and Norris as a fullback our game could be fantastic. Of course Boone wouldn’t start this year but he may get some time there during the season if he keeps on the straight and narrow path

Sheets had the 3rd fastest time among RBs
He didn’t get drafted because of “Bone Headed Coach Tiller”, he didn’t like Sheets so he blackballed him and teams were hesitant to draft him. He carried Purdue, broke records
last season. He made history at Purdue and Tiller just dogged him. God don’t like ugly, so he will get his, probably in the way of a heart attack while fishing…

I hadn't heard this
But it sounds like something fishy was going on with Sheets. All the scouting reports talk about him like he is some kind of poor man’s Darren Sproles. A quick back with the ability to break big plays both on offense and in the return game, but lacks the size or durability to be an every down back. The biggest red flag was that he supposedly has a bad attitude, is lazy and thinks he’s better than he is.
This could all be true, but with the success of smaller change of pace backs in the league recently you would think some team would take a flyer on him in the draft, unless all 32 teams came to the same conclusion about his attitude. That sounds like something that could happen if his college coach was sending out bad reports.

sounds like
depending on his attitude, he will be a poor man’s sproles for the niners (i got the same impression from the scouting reports) or flame out and be cut in the preseason…
can’t ask for much more potential from a UDFA

Kory Sheets
I’m a diehard Seahawk fan who is adapting the niners as my b team..ouch. I coached this kid in high school and was with him during the draft. I can tell you all that he is hungry to prove he can contribute at the nfl level. He is also accepting some responsibility for what took place, or didn’t take place during the draft. His focus is on the future and he can’t wait to show that big play ability he has. I think you guys are gonna really like this kid and the effort that he plays with.

How
…can you be a diehard Seahawk fan and then like the Niners?

dual loyalties
I was a bit confused by that as well. I think it’d be ok to root for Kory Sheets, but not sure about rooting for both teams…usually a B team is from another conference.

for the record...
I’m definitely with Simmons on being anti-sports-bigamy.

Sheets is a good one
I had the privilege of watching him the last four years at Purdue and writing about him for the past three. You guys got a steal in him. I’ve actually retired his #24 jersey I have.

man i watched that video and this young man can run that ball….did you see that juke move at the end? yikes…gore has always lacked that extra gear needed to be a break away back….between him and coffee we should be okay if he makes the team…sorry fooch but I just don’t see clayton making it.
