Maiocco on NFL.com
Maiocco is interviewed for the "49ers on the Clock" segment that NFL.com is running.
He figures the Niners are looking at either Michael Oher or Mark Sanchez with the #10. All I have to say is--I hope not!
Although I'm warming to Sanchez (somewhat), I'm definitely not sold on Oher.

I liked how he pointed out
Smith isn’t going to have as much pressure on him going into next season, since he’s getting paid backup money this year. It almost made me think that Smith could actually be a formidable back up.

I would take Oher over Smith.
With the signing of Marvel Smith, the urgency at RT is no longer there. And if the team decides on an OT at #10, I would prefer a player who can play both RT and LT. Oher has the feet to make a good LT and the size to play RT, but he will need some coaching. The Marvel Smith signing gives the team time to get Oher coached up and he can back up both sides for a year or two before taking over the right side. In the end, we get a bookend OT who can play either side in case of injury. Right now, I think Snyder is still the backup LT, and that makes me nervous – an injury to Joe Staley could cripple the team’s chances.
The knock on Oher is his intelligence, but he is a high-character kid with an excellent work ethic. I would take him over Smith, who has a lot of natural talent but seems to lack maturity and discipline.

As for Mark Sanchez, its a good idea for the team to put it out there that Sanchez is an option high on their board.
Trade value.
