J. Garcia coming back to the bay?
Since 49er news has been slow lately i thought I'd talk about a past 49er who went to 3 pro bowls while playing for them.
Quarterback Jeff Garcia, a former starter for the San Francisco 49ers, could soon be playing for the team that resides on the other side of the Bay.
Rumor has it that Garcia has drawn the interest of the Raiders, and that he possibly could be added to the team in the not-too-distant future.
No deal has been done yet, and as far as I know no offer has been made. But it’s the closest Garcia has come to signing with a new team since hitting the market on February 27.
In a way I will be happy to see Garcia back on a roster again, because he deserves a spot on a team due to his talent although he is aging quite a bit. But for him to be negotiating with the Raiders of all teams, is suicide "for his career".
Oakland has became the grave/ending spot of some of the best players.
So for Garcia's sake I hope he realizes that Oakland is actually correctly spelled "Crokeland" and he gets the heck away. =)
However, for Al Davis I will use a line that a very infamous person said about one of the most important human beings in American history to be. . .
I Hope He Fails! lol .
Oh and just to make this FanPost a little more interesting, what do you guys think about Garcia joining the raiders "if it happens", and/or which team do you think he would fit with best?
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Niners Nation's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Niners Nation's writers or editors.

I would love it
How long into the season does Jeff Garcia take over for the Raiders? I think we saw this twice last year in Minnesota and Tennessee. Young, high drafted QB who doesn’t seem concerned with getting his act together losses his job and possibly career to the older, established veteran who the team rallies behind because the older QB actually gives them a chance to win.

Oakland Raiders + Jeff Garcia = perfect storm for Howtheyscored’s hatred.
I'm thinking but nothing's happening.

maybe JaMarcus
would benefit from seeing how a professional QB goes about preparing and handling himself. He seems clueless.

Not a bad way, to end your life!
I have loved watching Jeff play, since he took over the helm in Red & Gold. Yes……he crawled a bit at first. Then all of a sudden, he seemed to be unleashed! Terrell was his favorite target, the offense moved well and SF made it to the playoffs.
Truthfully, he reminded me of Fran Tarkenton. No play was ever over until his body hit the floor. Then, he’ld simply get up again and score on you. Tragedy struck and the Niners let him go. After a couple stints in Detroit and Cleveland, Jeff found his smile again with a horrid Eagles team. But, by shear will, Jeff guided them to the playoffs. Then on to Tampa Bay, where Jon Gruden could make Santa Claus angry enough to change religions! Even though Jeff made few mistakes and kept Tampa moving. Now, if he goes to the Raiders, I will shed a tear. He’s too stubborn to know when a broken back means stay down. But, I will miss seeing him in SF colors. His calapse due to excessive injury will become the rallying cry for Socialized Medicine! Even Al Davis might learn the idea of humanity by watching this proud Lion get his brains beat in every week trying to instill a never say quit attitude into his players.
Jeff will never make it into the Hall, although, he should. The Experts always said, he wasn’t tll enough, wasn’t big enough, wasn’t fast enough. However, you can never measure the heart of this Lion who simpl;y knows how to win. I’ll hate to see him in Silver and Black, But I’d love to see him take one last victory lap. (Even if it’s stapped to a life support gurney!)

Why
would a Niner fan want Jeff Garcia to fail, even if it’s in Oakland? Garcia was a great Niner, and I will always be pulling for him to succeed, where ever he ends up.

indeed
Other than death and taxes, only 4 things in this world are indisputable:
Brandon Roy is the BEST player in the NBA in the clutch.
Montana to Rice were the greatest to ever play the game.
The Four Horsemen of Maddux, Smoltz, Glavine and Avery were unstoppable.
No one protects the pipes like Luongo.

not garcia
i was saying i want Al Davis to fail this year at being an owner. I hope Garcia plays great this year and stays healthy, but i despise Al Davis’ judgment for so many players who have played for him including coaching staff.

Sorry for the typos.....
But, If you look closer, I really do like Jeff. I was hurt when the Niners simply let him go instead of paying him the paultry $13 mil. he was asking for. I had no doubt in my mind he was worth it. But, the reality is, with the exception of Rich Gannon, any experienced QB who has landed in Oakland/LA as a Raider….HAS GOTTEN KILLED! I believe this is a trend that will continue with Jeff due to the fact Al doesn’t have a brain cell in his head that knows how to run an NFL organization. So, unless it’s against the Niners, I am pulling for one of my favorite QB’s Jeff Garcia!
