Defense is the way to build a championship team, and we have a defensive monster as a head coach, so why fight what's right? We need to go D 1st, offense later.
Here are my picks:
At 10 Maybin or E Brown PR
Rd 2: Brace DL
Rd 3: Tupou OT or RB (Rd 3 is where we got Gore)
Rd 4 Pick a RB or OT (see Rd 3, do the opposite),
Rd 5 If Stephen McGee is still there, grab him w 1st pick rd 5. Probably won't be, so then take a CB./ safety or the BPA.
6th and 7th rounds: BPA. with those 4 picks
That would be a good enough draft for me! We would become a top 10 D with our top 2 picks. Along with a steadier offense we'd make the playoffs. Give Vernon Davis and Shaun Hill a shot in a sane offensive scheme. Get our back-up RB, and we're ready to rumble. Also, my guess is Hill is going to grow on us in a better scheme.
Or how about an alternaitve draft just for fun!
Trade 10 for 18 and their 2.
At 18 take Sean Smith CB /safety
rd 2 Brace
rd 2 Barwin or best PR available
rd 3 RB
rd 4 Stepehn McGee -- then trade Alex Smith for a 4 this year and maybe a 4 next year.
rd 4 again: Alex 's pick goes for BPA.
I want an OT too. But we can't have everything. And it's always possible in a pinch to move Rachel to RT and let Wagge play G.
Comment away. But if you have a criticism, then let's see your draft picks! The more the merrier. Let's just be realistic about who is available where. . . .
