out with optimism in with reality!!the whole reason I signed up

OK every body, Im new to the site( not really Im just a new member Ive actually been coming to this site for about 3 months now) and its time to go ninja on everything 49ers baby lets go! I didnt want to become a member I just wanted to get my daily dose of niner news but everytime I come back to the site if its a comment Ive read or a post. its something that I always feel was left unsaid or just completely out of order. niners are back baby eff the analysis.

ive read numerous amount of people who rank us 3 in our division and i even seen times where were behind the frickin rams dont let no one get you down we winning our division dis year baby! you heard it here first. nate clements is going ta slap tj whosyamama up and down the field and ohh dre bly believe it or not is a upgrade over walt harris harris is a beast but put harris next to tha champ baily arguably the best corner ever for two years and see how he fairs. put a saftey over bly and see what he does you read the thread.

the only person who talks with any real knowledge over at nfl.com is gil brandt he said we will win the division and thats what its going to be. remember we got smacked into oblivion by seattle and that next game against arizona monday night football baby! steve hightower gets the ball mark roman comes down.....shhwammm right in the kisser! it look like confetti came from his helmet his face sheild smashed into so many pieces. at that moment I felt a change. that intensity aw yea its on in 2009 that same intensity we will witness for the whole entire 2009 season if we dont have any significant injuries (knock on wood) .

so first Im going to start with peoples perception of things you have alot of people who has no clue of some of these players abilities and will tell you oh walt harris isnt any good or shaun hill isnt good because of a madden rating or manny lawson isnt any good because keshawn johnson said hes a bust. these people lost faith in the niners so theyre not even watching the games at this point and I go to the bar every week and watch the game and I dont even drink i just have ta see em and I can tell you shaun hill can ball hes the only qb weve had that I feel absolutely compfortable with holding the ball since steve young hes like chad pennington he manages the clock and take what he can get they say he doesnt have a strong arm and that I cant defend but that 54yd bomb he threw to hill that josh morgan user picked was pretty sweet.

manny lawson is a fricckin ninja a whole season under him hes goin ta be special they question his pass rush keep em in the game three downs and good things will happen remember that game i think in 06 either the rams or seahawks he showed his atheleticism and jumped up and snatched that int 6'5 no other lb on our team can do that hes like a linky julian peterson i was devastated when we lost j pete until i watched lawson keep em on the field and not will he only create pressure he will cause plays.

I read james articles everyday and I see him kinda shy away from tha way he feel about some players he will talk highly about a thomas clayton or a tarell brown and get me real excited then when something happens and they get their opportunity then he will be like well yea all our RBs are lost to the season now maybe clayton will get his chance "I hope he can play good and step in for an injured gore" at this point im excited about gore so I dont want to hope he can fill in I want to feel like yes hes in but I went to youtube checked out clayton he sucks his preseason stats? suck those are game against people who dont care 2nd n third stingers get clayton out of there gore coffee and sheets lets go baby! sheets have raw talent what you see with bush we can have with sheets out the back fields explosive third down back he can make a screen a 60 yd td clayton wont . I watched his highlights hes a ninja even if its a highlight you can see what he brings to the table. thats the reason I was hoping for maclin i felt we needed a playmaker thats all we need we need a guy who can take a simple screen play to the house the steelers ran the screen a third down like 3 times n the superbowl on a beast being dominique rodgers cromartie and converted each time.

the only team in our division who will pose a threat will be the cardinals beanie wells will come in and do what edge couldnt he will cause a problem will trying to cover the fitz boldin and breaston ohh yea warner boooo.. I think samauri mike was going to sign warner and bench em for two seasons so he wouldnt be able to throw the ball to them we aint want him i would have been made if we actually played warner.

everyone thinkin run run run stop it just because sing said he wanna be able to run the ball when your suppose to doesnt mean thats all were lookin to do think outside the box people at the end of the game on goaline third in 1 instead of having to get n the redzone and throw the ball or get on the three yard line and throw a bunch of quick slants lets run it down their throat thats what he meant it frustrated me watchin martz throw the ball one 1st 2nd and 3rd down when were on the 17 yard line then have to settle for a field goal.

our defense will be nice this year we got goldson a ball hawk think a younger less experienced ed reed get excited people barring injury mark roman single handedly doomed our secondary. tarell brown I dont know much about him but I like what im reading shawntae spencer is more then average quality he started at one point how it should look starting qb shaun hill hes above average men lie women like numbers don't. (alex smith is not a bust injuries different off coordinators hes only 25 keep him around nice back up cuz huard keep davis. rb gore coffee sheets. wr ughhh I like zeiglers height. bruce can continue being mentor and makin plays morgan lets go tha crab lets go baby! jason hill lets go baby! arnez battle yall dont understand that dude can catch and run he just stay injured lets keep em a lil more fight then zeigler and brandon jones there fa 5 years so i guess lets see what he do. umm im thinkin lets turn the guy who jumps from car to car loose on people what can you say hes a ninja! im sure theres room on the o line for him Im not going to get into def maybe another time but its going down this year baby playoff intensity turn overs were bustin heads

Clayton

Welcome. What is it about Clayton that impresses you? His 3rs string RB status as a senior at Kansas State, a year in which he ran for 330 yards? His blazing 4.63 speed? His mediocre hands or his inability to block? With all due respect, Thomas has never achieved at any level. He doesn’t even play on special teams. He has no chance to make this team.

Love the enthusiasm

Loathe the lack of sentence structure and punctuation.

Really dude, your post reads like your stoned in the beginning and then all the sudden the speed kicked in. I am with you as far as being excited about the team and the players we have I am little behind you in the mind altering substance department.

i'm stoned and on speed right now...

Injury

Welcome to the site. Glad to have you joining in the conversation.

You mention Dashon Goldson and I am certainly a big fan. You do acknowledge the injury issue briefly, but I think it’s a pretty significant issue given that he has yet to stay completely healthy. Big, big factor for the defense this season.

by David Fucillo on May 22, 2009 8:06 PM PDT reply actions

just a little excited lol

yea I could have written it out a lil bit better, but I rushed through it then kind of went back and made up places for indentions just so that it would be easy on the eyes. the last paper I wrote was in english 102 most of my writing is text message so thats pretty much the way i wrote a lil slang here and there but thanx for the love as far as clayton I was saying I dont like em. oh, and fooch is a 49er guru.

Damn

I was hoping for someone new to join the pessimist team.

For real.

Where has all the negativity gone? I feel out of place.

by shlecko on May 24, 2009 5:42 PM PDT up reply actions

Couldn't get through all of it

It’s a little hard to understand.

But I appreciate someone else being optimistic around here.

by SportsChicken on May 22, 2009 11:10 PM PDT reply actions

Optimists

How the hell can any true fan not be optimistic about the coming season. For the first time in a long time, quality players will get cut from a variety of positions. We are deep and talented on both sides of the ball and now have a great man and coach who will turn this team around. As a Niner fan since 1946, and having waited 35 years for my first Super Bowl, I can say with some knowledge that this team is playoff bound.

It wasn't optimism

that caused us to lose the division last season. It was Martz’ insistence upon abandoning the run in the second half despite Singletary’s wishes, and his loss of focus. He cost us two games. That won’t happen this season.

Kezarvet

by kezarvet on May 23, 2009 12:15 PM PDT reply actions

in my opinion

we would have had a pretty good season even with martz if hill would have started but i would have liked alex to start if he didn’t get hurt.

by 5-0 on May 27, 2009 11:09 AM PDT up reply actions

Martz again?

Terrible red zone offense, 50+ sacks, limited use of our running game?

no thank you.

by SportsChicken on May 27, 2009 2:33 PM PDT up reply actions

It wasn't Martz

IMHO it wasn’t Martz — we did not have the horses last year. Part of it was Martz’ scheme without good enough players to execute. Part of Matz looking bad is that we had a bad HC til Sing showed up, no consistent pass rush, and a safety that I swear was actually a spy for the other team. The Oline was a mish mash. No back up RB. Hill not starting til game 9 or something like that. Really. you can’t balme Martz or any one person for last year.

That being said, Big Nerd, I am your man, sadly. I am not as optimistic as the rest of you, although I do love the first 5 games on the sched. After that, eek. If we get a monster pass rusher between now and the beginning of the year through trade or FAII, and IF the injuries to key players like Goldon are kept to a minimum (obviously we’re off to a very bad start there) then I tink we def have a shot. I am not a Hill basher. I like him as a QB. And I do hink we have the other parts of the team in place.

sentence structure, punctuation....Check!

yea, that’s what i said. “men lie, women lie, NUMBERS don’t”. shaun hill 90.5 passer rating..7-3 as as starter. I think he’s legit. the only time something like that backed fired on me is when tim rattay came in for three games and lit it up. I just knew he was going to be nice the season prior to that.

Numbers may not "lie", persay.

But they can certainly deceive. You gave a wonderful example of this:

tim rattay

The issue? Small sample size. Shaun Hill doesn’t have enough on his resume for his stat line to be the end-all, be-all judgment of his play.

by shlecko on May 24, 2009 5:47 PM PDT up reply actions

Interesting stat

Alex Smith was 7-5 as a starter in the last 12 games he was healthy…..

Hmmmmm

I’m a Shaun Hill fan, but I just used this example to tell you that numbers DO lie. (or do they?)

I Got plenty of optimism...

San Francisco 49ers vs. Baltimore Ravens in the Super Bowl.

by st. francisco on May 24, 2009 8:11 PM PDT reply actions

Playoffs are a crapshoot.

I think the Ravens can make it to the playoffs, so I can’t dismiss them going to the Super Bowl.

I’m not convinced, however, that we are capable of making the playoffs ourselves.

by shlecko on May 25, 2009 5:14 PM PDT up reply actions

numbers again

Alex smith also threw 31 ints, and just 19 tds. 49ers vs ravens? wow, now that’s optimism for ya.

by RBoogy29 on May 25, 2009 1:58 AM PDT reply actions

Period? Comma? Capitals?

I have to agree with a lot of what’s been said. You make some good points, and I like the optimisim, although you seem to be a little too optimistic at times. But can you please put in a few more periods or even a comma. The second to last paragraph, for example, is just one giant run-on sentance. Even capatilizing a new sentance would help. I’m not trying to be your English teacher, it’s just a little hard to read at times.

by urnext on May 25, 2009 3:00 PM PDT reply actions

lets stick to the subject were past the grammatical errors

I’ve already apologized for the sentence structure, and punctuations earlier lets move on already. It looks as if you have a pretty good grasp of the subject. That being said…… too optimistic I doubt it. At the end of the season I guarantee we will still be active in January… then come back in tell me I’m a little too optimistic. we will sweep Seattle we will sweep St louis. Depending on how good beanie wells play, and how the Boldin situation plays out we may sneak two in on them as well.

by RBoogy29 on May 25, 2009 6:55 PM PDT reply actions

Please stop.

Hasn’t the English language suffered enough?

by shlecko on May 25, 2009 7:43 PM PDT up reply actions

My best guess

I’ld be shocked if we ran the table in the NFC West. I’m guessing we ge 4-2, sweep Rams, split with Cards and Hawks. In the end I think we’ll finish 9-7, although I could just as easily see us go 8-8. Maybe I shouldn’t say “us”, since I don’t play with the team, but I’ll say it anyways. Maybe I’ll split the difference and say we’ll finish 8-7-1. And in the NFC West, that could be good enough to win it and get a home field playoff game.

by urnext on May 26, 2009 7:19 AM PDT up reply actions

BTW, I wasn’t trying to beat a dead horse with the language. I only quickly scand the replies so I guess I didn’t realize how many people had already commented about it. I wasn’t even trying to slam you on it. It was just a little tough to get through.

by urnext on May 26, 2009 7:28 AM PDT up reply actions

I ont kno too many out hurr. every steeler fan I kno seem coo. its funny how different teams attrack different type of fans. maybe thats why people look at me strange when I tell em Ima fan. maybe I ont fit tha profile.

by RBoogy29 on May 25, 2009 9:17 PM PDT reply actions

Reply button exists for a reason.

Anyway, I think it has less to do with the “type of fans” that gravitate toward certain teams and more about the setting. This is, what I would like to consider, a team blog that carries itself with some degree of professionalism and self respect. The ideal is that people can come together to form coherent points to debate and share opinions about their favorite football team. The type of posts you’ve made thus far would seem more fitting for a text-message, schoolyard, sports bar kind of setting.

This isn’t to say that it’s any less valid, but only that it seems sort of out of place here. People who read and post on a blog like this one are going to have a hard time relating to your views when they are crafted for a very different scene: one that puts a lot less stress on articulating thoughts into understandable collections of words.

by shlecko on May 26, 2009 5:03 AM PDT up reply actions   1 recs

ass holes exist for one as well

I don’t blog therefore, I wouldn’t know. As far as your comments are concerned, you can miss me with them. If you don’t like or can not read the post…don’t proceed. simple. Regardless of the format I decided to take as my approach, it has served its purpose, and I was so trenchant I received 37 comments. Your first comment was “hasn’t the english language suffered enough”. if you hadn’t approached the post in such a condescending manner, i would have took it more as if you were looking out for me and not as a shot.

You would have TAKEN, not took. Only someone who can’t spell would call those who can “jerks”. Punctuation and grammar are important. They make a post easier to read and understand. Yours is an embarrassment. Stay in school.

You imbecile lol. Show me 1 incorrect spelled word, and I will respectfully apologize to you, and delete my account. What you see my friend, is a misuse of an irregular verb. A grammatical error. IT takes me every bit of 3 minutes to make a post. I dont sit back and proof read every comment I post. When I write with pen, and paper it all comes together. When I text,or type on the cpu I free write. Actually typing takes a little more concentration. I write in chatrooms as oppose to blogging, I was born in the 90’s not in the 40’s so thats the things guys like me do unlike guys as yourself.

OK, Im 2-0 against jerks, identical to how the 49ers will start the season. boooyeah!! anymore jerks want it I’m up to the challenge."BRING IT ON!!!! 49er fan for life!

Your first sentence...

Incorrect use of commas.

Just because you are on the computer doesn’t mean that you are allowed to write with no respect for basic grammar rules.
How would you like it if you read an article in a newspaper and it was nearly impossible to read because of the bad grammar and spelling?
