PrintLast week we had a post go up asking the Nation to "Caption This" photo of Crabtree and Alex Smith during rookie mini-camp. The time has come for the Nation to vote on the best caption. The nominees were chosen from those comments that recieved at least one Rec in the comments section of the original post.
Now lets get down to brass tacks (or gold tacks, since this is the Niners):

Its an AP photo
SB Nation has a contract with the AP where they can link/post any/all AP photos. The photos are listed in a repository for all SB Nation authors to use. I agree, it looks a bit iffy there, but I would trust the photo, I don’t think the AP is leading us astray

Well.
AP still gets it’s pictures from various sources, I believe. That source could have shopped it after the actual picture was taken to bring Crabtree into focus but blur everything else.

nah, it's not photoshopped
besides, we don’t need to picture, photoshopped or not, to imagine Crabtree laughing at Alex Smith

Now that I really look it does kind of seemed shopped…But what would the purpose of this picture being shopped?
Well.
When I said ‘shopped it was half joking, but I meant that they modified the picture, not that the cut him from another picture and put him in there. I’m no PSP-expert, but it’s possible to adjust the focus of the image by blurring everything in the image except one spot, right?
By doing that, they made Crabtree the focus...
… so they can caption it with him as the primary focus.
If you have any scoops I'd love to hear it
Apparently he fired his old personal chef because he wore white before labor day, my insider is gone…
