Ken Dorsey Joining the UFL?

So Ken Dorsey has a Twitter page too, on it he says Can't wait to be part of the UFL for its first season! His bio says he is a current NFL QB and as far as I know he is still under contract, which leads me to the question how exactly does the whole jumping from the NFL to the UFL thing go? Hopefully someone smarter then me can explain. Former Niners QB's Unite!!
