NEWS FLASH: Mike Singletary is a Diva
-Q: When you were playing, did you ever miss camp time due to a contract situation?
-SINGLETARY: Absolutely.
-Q: What was the longest time you missed?
-SINGLETARY: Maybe three weeks.
-Q: Was that your rookie year or was it when you were a veteran?
-SINGLETARY: My rookie year of course I was drafted in the second round and thought that I should’ve been in the first round. So yes, I held out for a week.
The second time I held out was after my fifth year, actually, before my fifth year, the year we went to the Super Bowl. And the general manager and myself had a conversation during negotiations and it worked out totally different than he thought it was.
I’m a guy of principle. I was prepared to sit out for the whole duration. But it worked out, thank God for that.

Really?
You weren’t trying to be funny?

He's
making the point that Mike SIngletary did the same thing when he was a rookie that Crabtree is doing right now. And look at Singletary, he turned out alright, so why can’t Crabtree do the same?
BUT
Mike Singletary is the exception, not the rule.
Can someone come up with a list of players that held out for a large part of their rookie season?

You really think Crabtree will sit out a large part of his rookie season?
And that’s what makes him a Diva?
Crabtree is clutch
I didn't say Crabs was a Diva
I don’t think he’ll sign till mid September.

It's odd how many people are missing the very clear-cut point.
"Part, fools!
Put up your swords. You know not what you do."
What is odd...
The claim being made is that the Mike Singletary situation was the same as the Crabtree situation. Singletary missed 1 week, not the entire training camp + pre-season…
The cake is a lie.

Singletary also wasn't hurt when drafted
Not a Diva
Optimist Prime, and your favorite adjitator
Is this what it's all about Manny?
No
But how the hell do you hold out when you were drafted top 10, no combine, no OTA’s, just pictures laughing and joking around. Sing wasn’t hurt when he wqs drafted so him holding out is differrent!

Calling Singletary a diva is like calling Peanut Butter sour! Other then that point it’s not even worth a response.
Regarding Crabtree, i am upset as the next person that he isn’t signed right now. But i would hold off on calling him a diva. The logic that getting hurt makes someone a diva is just plain idiotic. I think we all should take a deep breath and reserve judgement on Crabtree regarding this. One thing is for sure he has extremely limited his ability to make a major difference this season and that shows me one thing. He might be a little selfish.
