I think i saw....
a J.T. O'sullivan sighting. Say it ain't so boss say it ain't so. With just one highlight i was thrown into nightmarish flash backs of last year. It brought back memories of when he threw long td bombs and I felt so excited! How could we let such a good player go like I.n.T? And to the bengals! who knew! Boy; it actually saddens me that we were so pathetic the first half of the year that we actually felt good about this guy. But anyway thanks Sportscenter for not warning me before the highlight came on. Next time say this " Warning this footage not suitable for true 49er fans, it is strongly encouraged that you change the channel due to the content about to be shown" Now see if all highlights that included J.t. oops I mean I.nT O'sullivan said this we wouldn't be reminded of the pain and hurt but just incase anyone was interested here you go but

Here's to Carson Palmer staying healthy. THe only thing that could be worse than last year is watching J.T. start games for the bengals and do great. And just incase you want his stats 10-13 for 141 yards with a td...how dare he!

i dont
..he should die..“how dare he” is right. +1. the only thing that would have made me happy in that highlight is if he threw 3 pics, had four fumbles and two torn acls on really hard hits.

are you calling JTO a beast? i love the sarcasm! you mean like a beastie boy right?
"Of all the things in the world losing isn't so bad; it just starts to feel like it does when you do it for so long"
That was a pretty good preseason performance.
And without him at QB in Week 2, the 9ers don’t beat the Seahawks.

Shaun Hill doesn't even have the requisite arm strength for the deep passes that JTO was making look easy left and right.
If Alex Smith were in the 49ers would have given up like 5 more sacks because of his awful pocket presence.

Sorry, you are just wrong
Alex Smith is somewhat decent at preventing turnovers. Most of his interceptions stemmed from games where the 49ers were already down 25 points and Nolan just had him air it out.
JTO is freaking turnover machine. He was the 2nd coming of Dave Krieg.
Dave Krieg was a 3-time Pro-Bowl QB on some fairly bad teams.
Alex Smith is somewhat decent at preventing turnovers
And this is not the best way to begin your point.

Dave Krieg was a favorite of mine but an absolute turnover machine. I hadn’t seen a QB for a knack for fumbling like Dave Krieg until JTO. Dante Culpepper approached the vicinity.
Dave Krieg is a much better QB than JTO and Alex Smith. However, when you want to discuss turnovers Alex Smith has been satisfactory in that department. His problem isn’t turnovers, it’s moving the ball.
How can you seriously believe Alex Smith is 'satisfactory' when it comes to turnovers.
If I’m not mistaken, he has the worst turnover ratio of any active QB. He started his career with 11 straight interceptions before throwing a touchdown, for heaven’s sake.

He was a rookie for heaven's sake.
I’m not really trying to defend smith.
But he’s not exactly a turnover machine….he’s TOO cautious with the ball.

fearless please don’t tell me that…i mean I’ll give you that but what about the other 6 games he blew? Talk about Christmas is september…..i still remember going to the bar to watch the games in smoke field rooms because the 49ers rarely come on tv in these part of the woods(unless you have direct tv’s overly expensive nfl package). I remember sitting there through all the trash talk about how sorry the 9ers were and I backed J.T for 3.5 quarters because deep down I knew that late in the 4th he was going to give it away and 9 times out of 10…he did just that. He looked okay during this preseason game but appearance can be deceiving.

Don't get me wrong, I think JTO is pretty crappy,
but he had some tools.

It didn't matter if we beat the hawks or not
we still didnt make the playoffs.
"Bar None!" - William Floyd
I wouldn't worry too much about the playoffs one way or the other ...
… at this point.
I mean, let’s say the Niners go 9-7, and squeak into the playoffs. Does that make them a better team than if they go 9-7, winning every game by the same margin, and miss the playoffs because the wildcard spots go to 10-6 teams?
Obviously, we’d rather make the playoffs than not, but they’re not a particularly specific measure of a team’s growth. We could go 8-8 and make the playoffs by winning the west, and yet be a worse team than if we went 9-7 or 10-6 and missed them.
Measure yourself compared to other teams when you’re competing for a championship. When you’re not, just look for solid improvement every year.
Elite Quarterbacking isn't a neccessity to beat the seahawks, we need defense!!!
Trufant will be out and frankly our passing game should do great against that weak secondary.

well you know what they say about blind squirrels.
Context, people. More context is good. Less context is bad. If you're willing to be reductive, then you're willing to be wrong.

i think the saying goes
the blind squirrel catches the worm or something like that
and in his 4th season, VD broke through the wall, Niners fan rejoiced and all was well in the kingdom. Singletary 3:42

I remember that he was a TO machine ...
… but again, why hold a grudge?
Nobody sold him as a savior. He earned the starting job by outperforming Hill in camp. I can’t remember anybody saying they thought he was going to be great.
He was a journeyman FA who’d never started a game before, and he played like it. To be mad at someone for being exactly what you should have expected them to be is just silly.
Ashamed in our team for hiring Martz and him bringing in his own TOOL lol

exactly
there is no grudge really he just really sucked and it reminds us of how bad we really are or if you want were. I was really being sarcastic in this post…like I said before I was behind him we he got the nod but i was even more happier when sing yanked him.
"Of all the things in the world losing isn't so bad; it just starts to feel like it does when you do it for so long"
As painful as that was...
it lead me to this. Not sure if its been posted before, but definitetly got me pumped up. I mean, on some of those, it’s like watching myself play Madden, breaking 3, 4 tackles and getting it into the endzone. Hoping for more of that this season.
The highlights were nice
But the sound (music) was horrible.

Right. I mean, if wishing good fortune and good health on former members of your favorite team doesn’t scream “traitorous and disloyal” then I don’t know what does.
-.-
My pessimism goes to the point of suspecting the sincerity of the pessimists.
he was never
a part of the 49ers..:) you ought to be ashamed of yourself for that statement shlecko
