Having never been able to catch a game at the "Stick" (all my 9er games have been in Atlanta, New Orleans, and the TO Star game in Dallas), was renovating the current stadium ever an option?  I know that when the Rams moved to St Louis, the Angels took their old multi-sport stadium and turned it into the nice looking baseball park it is now, and the Bears spent a season up at the U of I while Soldier Field was being renovated, and while it doesn't look all that great (because of the historic restrictions with the exterior), inside looks great and it's more modernized.  I really wonder why this couldn't work for us instead of Hunter's Point or Santa Clara.  I admit, going across the bay and playing in Oakland(cause I doubt Berkley or Stanford are real viable options) isn't what we want, but why wasn't renovation put forward as an option...or was it and me being clear on the east coast, I never heard about it.  What do you guys that live close and have been to home games think?
