Around SBN: Dissecting Nick Diaz's Positive Drug Test

Enjoy the NEW SBNation.com

As folks may or may not know, Niners Nation is a member of the SB Nation network of sports blogs.  For those that don't know, SB Nation is a community of over 200 sports blogs devoted to specific teams and general sports (MMA, golf, NASCAR, tennis and many more).  For the four major team sports, we have blogs covering every team except for the New Jersey Nets.  Among our more individualized sports, our MMA blogs are widely recognized as the best in the business.

I mention all this because SB Nation has taken another big step to further legitimizing itself.  Up until yesterday, the actual SBNation.com website was basically a listing of all the blogs and then a small portion pointing to three big stories of the day.  Nothing spectacular.

Well, that has changed.  The new SBNation.com will seek to do on a national level what each SB Nation network blog already does for its team or sport: provide the most timely, engaging and highest quality fan perspective information and conversation on the web.  The site will be more than just a compilation of news from our blogs.  If something big happens before an SB Nation blog gets a post up, SBNation.com will pull it from somewhere else and then update it with the blogger's story.

SBNation is not going to be a traditional sports website like an ESPN.com or YAHOO.com.  As with everything else in the network it puts a twist on national sports coverage.

Naturally we're always looking for suggestions and comments about the site.  Feel free to let me know what you think could stand to be improved.

You guys don't get paid?

What we've got here is a failure to communicate.

I think Fooch might get a couple of dollars a year, but none of the rest of us get anything.

Context, people. More context is good. Less context is bad. If you're willing to be reductive, then you're willing to be wrong.
