Being at or near the beginning of a new season, where I would expect site traffic to heavily increase, I think now would be a good time to get word out to new members that the fanshot section exists and have it explained to them what kind of stuff belongs there.

I was under the impression that fan shots were Quick hits of video, photos, quotes, chats, links and lists that you find around the web. what you have here is post by a fan.
FanShot vs. FanPost
Looking this over I think it can fit in as a FanPost. This goes beyond a normal quick hit that would be fitting for a FanShot.

So you see this as an insightful bit of information with potential to stir up intelligent conversation through the trading of viewpoints and opinions?
My criteria would be: If your post is likely to receive comments that don’t extend very far past “lol”, “wtf?” or a few facepalm graphics, then it belongs in the fanshot section.
Maybe it’s just me that prefers not to sift through 4 or 5 fanpost threads just to find something worth reading and discussing.

I think this particular one is a gray area. I agree that it is probably better as a FanShot, but I think the randomness of it might squeeze in as a FanPost.

in my opinion
a rap about the team is fairly similar to a new graphic someone made, a picture someone found, or a video, etc – it’s something that people are going to look at or read mainly for entertainment and not to spur discussion about the team. So I personally feel that it would fit better in with the fanshots.
Still defending Rich Aurilia, and the Niners' classic unis

i wasn’t looking for a record deaL. i wasn’t trying to make jay happy, and it wasn’t a portfolio piece it was a simple freestyle. i thought it was nice considering jay z’s group is roc of nation and we are ninersnation nothing major chill out.
