Seahawks Injury Update

Seattle is preparing for Leroy Hill to be out until at least late November, this is a huge hit to a team that has already lost Marcus Trufant, Chris Spencer and Walter Smith for a considerable amount of time this season. Smith and Trufant possibly for an extended part of the season. On another note Deion Branch practiced and remains questionable after not playing against the Rams in week 1. The only players out for San Francisco are Ahmed Brooks (1-2 more weeks) and Walt Harris(IR), Brandon Jones is planning to practice this week and wants to play. Originally Jones was thought to be out until mid October. It remains to be seen if Jones will make his 49ers debut this week, but i wouldn't count on it

Is that supposed to be Walter Jones? Who is Walter Smith?

This is a report i heard over the radio from Seattle today. I have attempted to find a link since returning to my computer, but without any luck. Interestingly enough they did not list Justin Smith on the report, you thread was the first i heard on that. Sorry i mean Walter Jones, typing too fast i guess. I gues it’s same to assume that Brandon Jones will play Sunday, that a long with the fact that Marcus Trufant will be inactive is good news for the 49ers. Thanks for pointing out the error fooch and i will attempt to find a link for you.

Your Google-Fu is weak

“Walter Smith” is Walter Jones. There’s no one in the Seahawks organization named Walter Smith.

This news has been mentioned on Sando’s ESPN blog and the local newspapers’ websites.

From Sando's blog:

http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcwest/post/_/id/5134/nfc-west-injury-situations-that-matter-18

The Seahawks can feel better about losing linebacker Leroy Hill for a few weeks after backup Will Herring flashed ability during the exhibition season and regular-season opener.

Herring played for about 3 quarters against Steven Jackson and did pretty well.

Also, this nugget is interesting:

Seattle probably will not miss injured starting cornerback Marcus Trufant this week simply because the 49ers do not appear committed to a diversified passing attack.

It sounds like Sando doesn’t respect the 49ers passing game very much.

Yeah, I read that earlier

My eyes are still bleeding just a little bit.

Was the point of that thread just to call out FF so that you could talk trash to him?

by ninjasocks on Sep 16, 2009 3:01 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

I figured he’d be itching for a fight since he’s been bashing us all summer. Ya, probably a little trash talking and I think Drummer wanted to bait him into a bet. Still, he’s been avoiding all the threads, not just that one. Gutless Frog if you ask me . . . and if the Seahawks win he’s got no room to comeback and talk {site decorum} about it.

FILE - In this Sept. 4, 2009 file photo, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Shaun Hill aims a pass downfield against the San Diego Chargers during the first quarter of an NFL preseason football game in San Diego. Hill earned the starting job for the 2009 season by beating out Alex Smith, who missed last season after re-injuring his surgically repaired throwing shoulder. Head coach Mike Singletary largely chose Hill based on his play down the stretch last year: he went 5-3 over the final eight games and he also owns a 5-0 record at home in Candlestick Park.
