FOOCH'S NOTE: No specifics of the allegation has been made public at this point, but the 49ers have indeed apparently filed tampering charges against the New York Jets over Michael Crabtree. We'll have plenty more as the details unfold.
ESPN reports that the Jets have been tampering with Crabtree. Seems as if they want a big receiver, and were mad that they didn't get Percy Harvin, apparently. Who knows if this is actually true? It sure would be nice to get some reparations after the whole Chicago incident.
What do you guys think about it? Crabtree's holdout really defies all logic unless another team has his back. Think we might be able to salvage a draft pick from the Jets? (Who look good this year, by the way.)
FOOCH UPDATE: Maiocco had the following to say:
According the report, the 49ers may believe the Jets contacted Crabtree's agent, Eugene Parker, to let him know they'd be interested in trading for his rights, or in drafting him in 2010 with a better salary than the 49ers are offering.
