Opening Night for College Football and Future 49er

I just wanted to get this out there so i can get some other perspectives.  I am a USC (South Carolina) Alumni and really like Eric Norwood.  This a great kid that plays with an unbelievable motor.  He was fequently in the library on his own and carries a good GPA.  I know he might not be as tall as our boy Scotty would like but if he is there in the 2nd round I think we have to take him.  Depending on how good his year goes, he might be a first round pick.  Started his career with his hand in the dirt but has played linebacker the past two years.  He looks like a perfect 3-4 OLB.  Here is a little from his Bio.....

All-America candidate after being a first-team All-Southeastern Conference selection in each of the past two seasons... has tremendous versatility... key to the defense... has recorded 174 tackles over the past three seasons... is Carolina's all-time leader with 43.0 career tackles for loss and is third on the all-time list in sacks with 22.0... is the SEC active leader in both sacks and tackles for loss... has played in all 38 games over the past three seasons and has made 25 consecutive starts... is on the preseason Lombardi and Lott watch lists... named the Harris Pastides Scholar Athlete Award winner for football at the spring game.

I just wanted everyone to maybe pay a little more attention to that first game tonight and tell me what you think.  You might not see his pass rush as much in past years since he has lost his partner Jasper Brinkley in the middle and is now the main guy.  Also this game we have 2 D Lineman suspended and one coming off knee surgery so the only real started on the line is DE Cliff Matthews.  But then again maybe he'll get a lot of rush chances to maybe help out that young secondary.

Love to hear the comments from non biased west coast people.  Would you take this guy on the 49ers?

Just from his ranking and comments

Here, it sounds like he’s more of a mid-to-late round prospect, maybe a poor man’s Everette Brown. There’s still a whole season to go so a ton can change, but it doesn’t sound like he has a very high ceiling.

Everette Brown comparison

Looks like a good one—down to the lack of height. He won’t be a 49er 1st rounder if McCloughan’s in charge.

Morgan breaks through in 2009!

He had

a very good 1st half against a good offensive line…lets see how the 2nd half goes, and the rest of the season for that matter

DUDE, NO WAY

when i saw the title i was going to come here and mention Eric Norwood and then it turns out the WHOLE ARTICLE was about him. awesome!

needless to say, i would definitely take him on the 49ers. i am hereby officially starting an Eric-Norwood-to-the-49ers bandwagon. please join and then do your best to contact Scot McCloughan and DEMAND that he do whatever it takes to get Norwood (short of passing on Eric Berry, of course).

P.S. he is an inch taller than Parys Haralson, for those of you who say he isn’t tall enough.

I take full responsibility for my irresponsibility.

Dez Bryant

HELL NO

I hate this guy, he needs like 2 more years of coaching.
He makes WAY too many mistakes and is only “on” in the redzone.

What we've got here is a failure to communicate.
