Where are they now?
The San Francisco 49ers are one of the most colorful franchises in the league. The Niners have gone through a couple of different stadiums (or "stadia," if you're into the Latin thing), but have never left San Francisco. The team has had Hall-of-Famers (Montana, Rice, Lott, etc.), "busts," journeymen putting in work (Hill), and flashy egos (Neon Deion, T.O.). We have had great coaches (Bill Walsh), not-so-great coaches, and our current Head coach, who looks like he will probably be one of the greater ones we've had. Anyway, I am really curious to know where all of the former Niners are, or if they have, unfortunately, died already, what they were doing after being active with the 49ers.
Is there a site that tracks these things? What is Roger Craig up to? What does Joe Montana do all day? How about Garrison Hearst? Guy McIntyre? Fahnhorst? Keena Turner? Mike Rumph? Anyone else, I'd like to hear about them, even if they're homeless or working for their dad in his shoe store in Winnemucca, Nevada. Maybe they are coaching your kid's pee wee team. Making it in the NFL is definitely not easy, with thousands of guys gunning for a spot, and with injuries, so they should be proud that they played at all in the league, even if it was on the practice squad.
I apologize if this has already been discussed, but I haven't really seen it.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Niners Nation's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Niners Nation's writers or editors.

I doubt any of the above mentioned Twitter haha jk
I would imagine that most of these guys are in to investments or own businesses…
I do know that Montana owns a couple of car dealerships with Jerry Rice and also owns a resteraunt. He also has been seen at his son Nick’s (who plays QB) HS Football games. Will Smith (the actor’s) son is his #1 WR. He also has another son Nate who walked on at Notre Dame to play QB but they were stacked at QB and he was way down on the depth chart so he withdrew and enrolled at a community college or something like that.

Well Rumph retired from football in 2008 after being released by the St. Louis Rams. He is a volunteer defensive assistant for the Miami Hurricanes.
One of my all-time favorite 49ers Garrison Hearst, man i loved that dude. Apparently he just got married last month and has 3 kids

Montana's Other Son
Chose Washington over Notre Dame and is apparently the QB of the future for them after Locker leaves for the pros. He was the 4th best Huskie recruit this season according to ESPN

Matt Maiocco
Has a book called “San Francisco 49ers: Where Have You Gone?”
It’s a pretty good read, though it doesn’t have newer players in it like Rumph or Hearst.

You skipped over 35 years of players
many of whom were great and are still around. McElhenny, Perry, Tittle, etc. Can’t forget the guys who made it all happen.

I definitely want to hear about those guys
I am 35, and I started listening to Niner games on KGO in about 1981. But I would like to know more about the players from the 40’s through the 70’s, for sure.

Watch this video
on Hugh McElhenny. The very first run was for around 70 yards. You’ll notice he did it without a helmet which was torn off at the line of scrimmage. We could sure use Mac now for his breakaway speed running ability. He was a threat on every play.
