Last minute moves
Adam Snyder has been looking serviceable lately, but I wouldn't say good. With the injuries to our O-line we needed some depth instead of screen door Sims. But is Pashos going to take the starting spot and relegate Snyder to backup?
Pashos has experience and a decent track record. Obviously not good enough that the Jags drafted a new tackle, and didn't trade him, just cut him. Apparently his biggest concern was that he did not want to move to gaurd, but the pay cut didn't help either. Pashos has a chance to understand the system quickly because as Barrows said "the hope is his familiarity with position coach Chris Foerster’s system—they were together for two seasons in Baltimore—will allow him to take over the position in short order."
Pashos fits our O-line at 6'6 and 326. He struggled last season with the Jaguars. I believe the reason they wanted him at guard is his spotty record with speed rushers on the outside. I think we are getting a very good addition to our Oline, but at the same time we have to be wary because he did just get cut. Is Sing gonna use this man as a backup, or is he going to oust Snyder in about 3 games? No matter what the decision I think it was a much needed move to pick him up.
Other things I want to get off my chest:
I am very surprised Shawntae Spencer is starting, though I wonder if it is just for the Cards game and the size matchup. I like the player and have always liked his play style, but he has never been up there to start. On the other hand, when he was drafted he had potential and it could have been limited to his injuries. I guess all we can do is wait and see.
Oh yea, and Shawne "Chokes Out" Merriman. Had to.
