49ers Practice Squad adjustments

The 49ers made a couple changes to their practice squad today.  OLB Diyral Briggs cleared waivers and was signed to the practice squad.  At the same time, the team terminated DT Khalif Mitchell from the practice squad.  This leaves the 49ers still with 7 players on their practice squad, meaning room for an 8th.  Any ideas on who that could be?  I'd imagine they're scouting out their options among released players.

On a related note, Barrows put together a quick summary on each of the seven members of the practice squad.

I don't see any available free agents

Unless the team wants to sign Derrick Brooks for some reason. I’m guessing they are saving the extra PS spot for when Crabtree signs his contract meaning Curtis Talyor will be moved down.

You don't think Spurlock or Rossum?

Both are return guys and one plays the same position as the #10 pick. Maybe the Lambert lovers will get to see him on the PS.

You gotta bring ass to get ass.

Didn't mean PS

Was asking if they’re the most likely to get cut when #10 signs instead of taylor. That’s why I mentioned Lambert as the possible eighth guy on the PS.

Consdering...

… you can sign and release players with ease in the NFL (especially practice squad and fringe players) without hard feelings, I don’t think this is the reason at all.

Why cut Mitchell …unless they know Crabs is on the way soon and they will need to have a place on the PS for a youngster being moved from the 53 ? Wishfull thinking, probably, but I still wonder why they needed to cut Mitchell when they had the spot for him? Maybe they add someone else later today or tomorrow, but then again I ask,why didn’t they wait until they needed the spot before they made the spot ???
Why sign Mitchell on Monday and then cut him on Tuesday, unless something is in the works and they needed the spot? It would be nice if it was Crabs on the way but it only makes sense that SOMEONE is on the way.

Remember that Collins can be used to mimic the team we are playing,it keeps the 53 fresh. The PS players practice with the 53 and are used ,so the 53 don’t get worn out.
And Collins is also a speedster.Could be thought of as a future returm man.
Maybe Spanos could be brought back?

If monetree wants to come down to earth and play FOOTBALL

then welcome home, other wise pound sand dude cause there is no room for you here.. we have 20 guys who have been tested and found wanting for talent , drive , determination, heart and other “intangibles” and now we have 53 guys who have been tested and found worthy to be a FORTYNINER. So if you don’t have the courage to come out and prove yourself, then stay the away, because we don’t need your sorry butt.

Ever heard of having two TE's on the PS?

Bear Pascoe anyone? Hmmm? Yeah its unlikely, but I’d like to see it happen.

And back to that 60% run quote from Raye the other day. I just heard Sing asked about that quote and he said that he and Raye are together on the idea that they will do whatever it takes to win ballgames. If it takes 75% passing, then they will do that !
I told you that raye was just pulling the media’s chain with that 60% nonsense.
