Eagles Hire ST Coach Bobby April

Ninjames posted a FanShot earlier, but I thought we'd expand on this a little bit.  Barrows posted earlier today that special teams coach Bobby April (a big favorite here) signed a contract with the Philadelphia Eagles today to handle their special teams.

I'm sure plenty of folks will be disappointed in this development.  Larry Mac Duff (former 49ers ST Coordinator) remains on the table.  Barrows also mentioned that former Eagles special teams coordinator Ted Daisher and former Panthers coordinator Danny Crossman are both available.  Any thoughts on either of those guys?

Eagles Hire April

Disappointing!! He is clearly the best ST Coordinator in the NFL and has been for quite some time. Sing should learn from this. When you know that you have the right guy, don’t hesitate or “take the time to think about it.” Make the offer and get him committed!

Sing should learn?

I am sure a lot of factors were considered when April made the decision. He would have had to move his family to a different time zone for the job. ST coordinators are usually the lowest paid (DC, and OC). I don’t see how he is the best ST coach in the NFL, Buffalo posted 2 more yards per return on punts and they have more talent than we do.

Maybe we did make the offer

and maybe April didn’t want to come to San Fran. It’s not like he had a shortage of offers available to him.

Yes Drew K, Tim Tebow will get picked in the first round.

Would it have mattered? I highly doubt it.

You can say it however you want, talk about it all day I don't care, bottom line is it needs to be done now. Hesitation is an asset of the WEAK, and around here Mutha(site decorum) we get (site decorum) done!!!

ST Coordinator

Of those presently looking for work, I believe that Daisher is the most knowledgable and has done a great job with the Eagles’ special teams. Since they finished so high in special team rankings, not sure why Andy would replace him.

This pisses me off so god damn MUCH.

God damn it.

The Seahawks never hire good coaches.

Meh, at least we got Alex Gibbs…

Holmgren would have drafted Crabtree.

OL Coach

Good news for Alex Gibbs is he can collect Social Security while also collecting his check from Seahawks.

Seriously?

Or is my sarcasm detector malfunctioning again?

Holmgren would have drafted Crabtree.

April has always been an East Coact Coach in the NFL and probably wanted to stay there. But I guess him saying all those great things about Sing and the niners doesn’t carry any weight with the gripers? I don’t hear them saying that April turned down the Steelers,so I guess the Steelers are not a well run Org either, lol.
And don’t forget,it was reported that sing didn’t offer the job to April. Maybe Sing didn’t like the guy ?

Way to copy your EXACT same post from Sacbee...

Take some time and put a post together instead of running from site to site copy and pasting. That’s ridiculous.
