LIVE NN Community Mock Draft 2010

Well folks, here we are... it's draft time!

Below I have listed the draft method again for those that may not have made in time for the Q & A post. The Q & A post will still be where all questions are asked regarding the draft; so should you have any questions, please redirect them over there. I am also going to list the order in which teams will be draft so you will know when you are on the clock. Thanks to all for your participation once again.

DRAFT METHOD:

1. I will announce which team is on the clock with the following comment: THE ST. LOUIS RAMS ARE NOW ON THE CLOCK!! ...After this message, you will have 5 minutes to make your selection.

2. Your selection MUST appear exactly as this in the subject line: WITH THE 33RD PICK IN THE DRAFT, THE ST. LOUIS RAMS SELECT (PLAYER NAME) -- (POSITION) -- SCHOOL. Please use all caps so your pick will stand out.

3. After your selection, the next person will be on the clock once I make the announcement.

4. After your selection is made, it will be preffered that you give an explanation of why you made the specific selection. PLEASE DO NOT USE THE SUBJECT LINE FOR ANYTHING OTHER THAN PICKS. This way, the only thing that will appear in bold is the announcement and the pick.

5. It will help in following the conversation on each pick alot easier. And most importantly of all, when we put together the front page article, it will be easiest to sort through.

you mean we don’t already know why the Ram’s took Suh? lol jk

No, you don't.

What we've got here is a failure to communicate.

lol, well then by all means, tell us…..

but don’t type in the subject line.

Dammit, I keep forgetting…..I’m used to doing that.
sorry.

I’m just giving you a hard time because Drew caught me in the very first post. I had to take someone down with me. I’ll throw you a lifevest….

by hudd07 on Jan 23, 2010 12:15 PM PST up reply actions

If any of you have followed my comments you’ll know that I think this pick should be a QB.
However, since there are still many more things yet to happen before the draft I decided to just give them the BPA.
The Rams have a lot of needs, and while DT may not be the biggest, this pick should take care of at least one.

What we've got here is a failure to communicate.

by SportsChicken on Jan 23, 2010 12:14 PM PST up reply actions

I think if the Rams don’t get a QB through FA or a trade they’ll pick Clausen with their #1 pick

Yes Drew K, Tim Tebow will get picked in the first round.

Exactly.
But FA hasn’t even started…sooooo

Don’t use the subject line…just the rule

He was 5-15 with the Oakland Raiders and got fired before his second season was over. He went 7-6 in his one year at Tennessee in a season when the SEC wasn't terribly good. He lost at home to UCLA; the Bruins only road win in the Pac-10 came at Washington State.

He was #1 on my pick board…didn’t think he would fall though

He was 5-15 with the Oakland Raiders and got fired before his second season was over. He went 7-6 in his one year at Tennessee in a season when the SEC wasn't terribly good. He lost at home to UCLA; the Bruins only road win in the Pac-10 came at Washington State.

the lions offense actually started to look competent, and the biggest hole on the offense in on the line, and there are after Okung, there is not a big drop off at tackle. i wouldn’t be surprised if the lions actually traded back into the first round to grab an OT.

limiting my options to D, it was either mccoy or berry, and with delmas in the secondary already mccoy fills a bigger need.

by thewhizkid on Jan 23, 2010 12:10 PM PST up reply actions

I think it’s a good pick

Yes Drew K, Tim Tebow will get picked in the first round.

by smileyman on Jan 23, 2010 12:11 PM PST up reply actions

have two defensive tackles ever been taken one and two in the drafy before?

by mat.esty on Jan 23, 2010 12:12 PM PST up reply actions

i was curious about that too, maybe its a record

by thewhizkid on Jan 23, 2010 12:14 PM PST up reply actions

1992 there were DTs picked 1 and 3
1970 there were DTs picked at 2 and 4

That’s the best I could find

Yes Drew K, Tim Tebow will get picked in the first round.

by smileyman on Jan 23, 2010 12:15 PM PST up reply actions

I think that’s smart. I read one mock that had them taking Berry to match with Delmas.

I didn’t think that would happen. Safety isn’t a premium position, and when you already have one, no way they take another.

by hudd07 on Jan 23, 2010 12:11 PM PST up reply actions

especially when Delmas is already a very, very good one

Yes Drew K, Tim Tebow will get picked in the first round.

THE TAMPA BAY BUCS ARE NOW ON THE CLOCK!!

Drew K for Ohio Niner (not present)

I think Eric Berry should have been the selection.

exactly. The Bucs line is fine

how is this pick determined?

by thewhizkid on Jan 23, 2010 12:16 PM PST up reply actions

like a big board or just how u feel they should draft?

by thewhizkid on Jan 23, 2010 12:17 PM PST up reply actions

there’s a consensus board or something

this goes for any pick missed

by thewhizkid on Jan 23, 2010 12:17 PM PST up reply actions

drew steps in and chooses as he sees fit I think. i agree with the pick. Could have been berry but you CAN pass up a safety, not your future LT. 2nd most important position behind QB I think.

by hudd07 on Jan 23, 2010 12:18 PM PST up reply actions

At least their line is now that much better. Donald Penn sucks

I speak fluent English and Arabic and have a working knowledge of Spanish. Yet a certain GrahamCrakalaka cannot distinguish me from Mike Fox. My God, the Dodgers suck.

by Ramah71 on Jan 23, 2010 12:20 PM PST up reply actions

It was a need based pick. If the person is not present, I will chose a player based on team need. We may have a different process for future drafts but for now, this is much quicker than a consensus type of deal.

I am open to suggestion for the future though

Tim Tebow = 1,432,219 season tickets next year. Who wouldn't pick him in the 1st round with those projections?

BPA

What we've got here is a failure to communicate.

by SportsChicken on Jan 23, 2010 12:20 PM PST up reply actions

yeah like a fantasy draft, pick one draft board to use and go off of it

by thewhizkid on Jan 23, 2010 12:20 PM PST up reply actions

first relative surprise with the bucs take need over BPA

by HaloFanInDC on Jan 23, 2010 12:16 PM PST up reply actions

But OT isn’t really a big need.
They can run the ball effectively and Freeman usually has enough time in the pocket to make his throws.

What we've got here is a failure to communicate.

by SportsChicken on Jan 23, 2010 12:18 PM PST up reply actions

prob who i would have taken with that pick as well. rlott is safe for now. Berry for Safety!!!

by hudd07 on Jan 23, 2010 12:17 PM PST up reply actions

plus the HC was a secondary coach and I think he’d love to get a DB of Berry’s quality

by HaloFanInDC on Jan 23, 2010 12:17 PM PST up reply actions

Berry could fall to me!

Davin Joseph, Jeremy Trueblood, and Jeff Faine are very good, but Donald Penn is average at best and Aaron Sears is inconsistent. I guess it’s debatable.

by Ramah71 on Jan 23, 2010 12:21 PM PST up reply actions

Safety has never been picked #5. Even though Berry is probably one of the few NFL starters ready to go from the gate his stock could fall simply because he plays safety.

Yes Drew K, Tim Tebow will get picked in the first round.

No Vikings type situations?

by ChesapeakeBay9er on Jan 23, 2010 12:21 PM PST up reply actions

Their rep hasn’t shown up yet.

He was 5-15 with the Oakland Raiders and got fired before his second season was over. He went 7-6 in his one year at Tennessee in a season when the SEC wasn't terribly good. He lost at home to UCLA; the Bruins only road win in the Pac-10 came at Washington State.

I meant a few years back where the Vikingsmissed their pick and the team behind them got it.

by ChesapeakeBay9er on Jan 23, 2010 12:23 PM PST up reply actions

But nobody would be here to do the pick, so it the team would never pick. Does that make sense?

Davis ranked #2 on quite a few draft boards. If you’re looking for an OT he’s not that big a reach

although a little surprised that Holmgren wouldn’t go offense

by hudd07 on Jan 23, 2010 12:44 PM PST up reply actions

I do think Haden is the #1 CB in the draft. just don’t think he’s head and shoulders above the other CBs

I’ve even said I think he might go before Berry because of the position he plays

Yes Drew K, Tim Tebow will get picked in the first round.

Not sure what to make of this

I speak fluent English and Arabic and have a working knowledge of Spanish. Yet a certain GrahamCrakalaka cannot distinguish me from Mike Fox. My God, the Dodgers suck.

Updating picks

Sorry for interrupting without a pick, but I’ll update the picks as they come in on the main part of the post so Drew can focus on managing everything else.

I’m not qualified, but if no one else would like to, I will. I might be too logical for Al Davis I’ll admit

Yes Drew K, Tim Tebow will get picked in the first round.

I meant to say that it makes sense in Al Davis’ mind.

by thewhizkid on Jan 23, 2010 12:53 PM PST up reply actions

Russell was given permission by Davis to blow off the last team meeting of the year to go to Vegas.

If it comes down to Cable v Russell Cable is gone.
