I still don't get why this coaching staff hasn't opened up the playbook for Alex and let him do what he does best. After 6 years in the league you would think that people would realize he is not a game manager type and should be all conservative. Its getting to the point where its pathetic. This guy has some obvious talent we are wasting. Why is it the only time Alex Smith does good is towards the end of halves where he's calling his own plays and gets to make his reads and chuck the ball around the field. I love frank gore but to be honest. His running abilities have gotten to be terrible. He's still great but if you look at the numbers he's not doing to good running. And he was 3rd in the league in receptions coming into tonight. So your not wasting his talent by going to a full spread offense. And run him out of shot guns and give him something other then up the gut.
I know ill get ripped apart for this but if Alex Smith is in the right offense. This kid has pro-bowl talent. And so far the only one who i have heard say something about this was Gruden. John Gruden was talking about how much he liked Smith when he interviewed Singletary at the combine.
I love Sing still and want to see it be him that turns this team around. But this team has the pieces in place. Its on the coaching staff. You have the players. Use them for what they are good at. Don't try to turn them into something they aren't. If they had then i promise we wouldn't be looking at 0-5
