Golden Nuggets: No Rambling Today

Good morning folks, Ninjames here. Apologies on getting the Nuggets up late, it's not all that easy to get things done at the moment. Fortunately, we didn't have a big news day yesterday, but there's plenty of links to get to. So I'm going to skip the long introduction in which I ramble about nothing and just get to your links for the day. Enjoy, folks.

Shawne Merriman as a 49er is still a possibility, it's being discussed among the 49ers front office. I'm still wildly opposed to the idea. Manusky is a very smart guy, but he's wrong here. Merriman has nothing left. (Examiner.com)

The 49ers have a crucial ten day road trip up next. I feel confident the team can come back home with two wins. (SacBee.com)

Converting third downs is something this offense couldn't do under Jimmy Raye. Under Mike Johnson, though? They're getting it done. I'd like to see more, but I'm pleased with the improvement. (PressDemocrat.com)

The NFL rescinded the fine on the Chiefs player who very blatantly was doing some inappropriate grabbing. I'd fine him more than the people going helmet-to-helmet, honestly. Back off the package, son. (NFL.com)

I'm not sure how each team does this, how the offensive and defensive coordinators work together, but it's good to know that the 49ers coordinators get together on Saturday and take care of things. (CSNBayArea.com)

Gore is shouldering a heavy load with this offense. Glad to see he's fighting for every yard. (PressDemocrat.com)

The 49ers defense is in attack mode. It would be good to see them rise back up the defensive ranks. (49ers.com)

Opponents are singling out Patrick Willis in their gameplan. Can you blame them? (SFGate.com)
