Today went from sorta blah to real bad in a hurry. Alex Smith was driven into the ground by 280 pound defensive end Charles Johnson and has a sprained shoulder that will keep him out of the rest of this game. David Carr has come in and aside from a short sideline pass has struggled to get the ball to his receivers. It's still early so maybe he just needs to get back into game shape (or so I tell myself). The Panthers have taken a 13-10 lead on a 55-yard field goal by John Kasay. The 49ers just grabbed a fumble from the Panthers, so let's hope they can get some positive yards from Carr and company.
