Golden Nuggets: Here Fooch Comes To Save The Day

Fooch's Note: First, the Nuggets title should be sung to this tune. Second, Ninjames is out and I'm handling the Nuggets for the day. Big thanks to him for getting the structure set up after the jump. He had begun the Nuggets last night so the following paragraph is what he had to say.

Good morning folks. I'm starting these early because I have to wake up very early to take care of things and I'm a little ... let's call it "woozy," at the moment, so I don't have much actual, factual commentary on the 49ers to grace you with. They signed a kicker, but we all expected this. I believe they will beat the Buccaneers on Sunday, and I believe they'll do it handily, by a couple of scores. Again, that's just me. Either way, I don't have much time so I'm going to just get to your links. Enjoy.

CSN broke news that the 49ers players voted unanimously to give the NFLPA permission to decertify the union. It's primarily a procedural move because if the union couldn't decertify it couldn't sue the owners if a lockout was instituted. (CSN Bay Area)

At least this team has a lot of classy individuals

You know, when a team disappoints their fans as badly as the niners had in the first half of the year, and considering how many weird changes, bad fortune, and mishaps its gone through. The interesting thing is how well the team still gets along. In particular, its pretty amazing how well all three quarterbacks have handled each of their situations.
For all the criticism Mike singletary usually takes (often deservedly so), this team has shown a lot of maturity in the way it has expressed themselves, even when the media would try to instigate something inflammatory. Perhaps, the coach has some effect on this. It makes it easier to come back to root for the team even when they play poorly one week. It would be nice if fans picked up on this and could separate their criticisms of the team and coach’s performance from crude personal attacks and childish name-calling. I guess that’s just hoping.

I don't mean to denigrate Fooch's link ...

… but if we’re talking Mighty Mouse, it has to be Kaufman.

Hello friend

Did you by chance send some of your nations lovely weather down to Naples Italy??? It has been raining for a week now.

by NinerFanInItaly on Nov 18, 2010 6:36 AM PST up reply actions

Yes, sorry

We started getting Finland’s weather which pushed our normal weather down to you. I should imagine yours has gone to Morocco. If we all hold on a jiffy, it’ll keep going past down South Africa and round again to Finland, where for one glorious week the locals will get Italian weather. “Hey Juusi, fancy driving our mopeds down to the piazza for a frapuccino? Don’t mind if I do Teemu!”

How responsible

My favorite part of the whole game was Troy coming up to Crab after the valid TD with his “They can’t take this game away from us” face. Having 3 TD’s voided on penalties would discourage your average QB.

So let me ask you this

Should Alex Smith be next year back up QB?

by clrncbll on Nov 18, 2010 8:31 AM PST reply actions

Absolutely

And the third QB should be a promising pick from the draft. Get rid of Carr and Nate, if you have to.

Having two starter-quality QBs for the foreseeable future mentoring a rookie with potential is the best possible outcome going into next season.

Letting Alex get away would be a mistake, and if the QB competition thing will be a problem, then we have the wrong QB starting anyway.

and once Alex loses the backup job, we cut or trade him
