Interesting take on pass rushing - productivity - 49ers best?
Take a look at these charts from Pro Football Focus
While I think the sample size for our guys at this website tells the tale that we like to rotate them and play them in certain situations (apart from Justin Smith, who we all know is a never-stopping animal on permanent beastmode), it's still pretty impressive that we can get that much productivity from our main three pass rushers. I don't think it surprises anyone, but I think people don't realize just how effective our guys really are. I think our pass rusher's usefullness just isn't prevalent because of how many times we get burned when we don't rush the passer and step back into coverage. Either way, three of the most productive LBs and one DL in the top ten in their respective positions is pretty dominant.
Thoughts?

it's hard to get the context of these numbers without:
o number of pass attempts. vs (team/player)
o number of blitz attempts
o avg. number of rushers/pass
Another way would be to break it down into 4-3 vs. 3-4 defenses. Since the Niners run mostly 3-4, one of their LBs is always rushing the passer.
Interesting that a hit/pressures is worth .75 of a sack. That seems… large. I would like to see the numbers broken down by sack/hit/pressure.
DVOA has the Niners with a respectable but not great adjusted sack rate.

crazy.
Lawson and LaBoy are numbers 1 and 3 respectively, but they also have the two lowest number of attempts in the entire top 10.
these people need to be in there rushing the passer more. even if it’s a small sample size thing, at least we will find out.
We don't need 8 in the box. We have 52 in the box.
they rush variety of people
