49ers have a 30.3% Chance of winning the Division (and why STL is overrated)

Stay connected for news and updates

Based on Footballoutsiders.com's predictions, we have a 30.3% chance of making the playoffs, with the Seahawks at 39.6% and the Rams at 28.7%...the Cards are out of it.

So for all of you who refuse to believe that this team has a chance at winning this division, please read.

We are also the "hottest" team in the Division, with a weighted total performance of -4% (4% worse than the NFL, on average, would have performed in our situations). STL is -19%, Seattle is -30.2%, and ARI is -38.9%.

I don't really understand why people think Saint Louis is playing so well. Bradford piled up 300 yards against what Footballoutsiders considers the worst pass defense in the NFL, with opposing offenses performing 50% better than they would expect to against the League as a whole.

So what what is the big friggin deal about the Rams? They're going to get blown out by New Orleans and KC may very well run for 300 yards on them. We'll beat them head-to-head and win the division. Seattle might only win one more game (CAR).

The ugly truth is that we are a mediocre team, but the rest of the division is worse and its likely to play out that way...with us hosting a wild card game against New Orleans or Philly.
