Another prime time stage for Alex
Thursday Night, @ San Diego, with many people watching(stupid nfl network, thank you local channels + streams), Alex Smith gets another chance to show what his worth is. He's performed pretty well in prime time games, though most of them have been against NFC West opponents, except the saints and eagles. This is a road game, but the niners have a LOT of fans down there in san diego, so we should have decent support, so it shouldn't be like Quest or Arrowhead. You look at the Charger defense, which is 2nd in the NFL, and who just shut out the Chiefs, who have an exceptional ground game, but without Cassel, they were purely one-dimensional.
Now Alex isn't awesome, he isn't someone that can scare an opponent, but that's what scary about him. With his inconsistency, you never know when he's going to click and start going off, but then again you never know when he'll throw 2 or 3 interceptions to cost you the game. I'm not ready to jump on his bandwagon yet, but he seems a changed man. He seems a lot more loose, doesn't feel all the pressure in the world is on him because he's already experienced the worst(against Philly). If Alex can have even a decent game, maybe 250 yards and 2 tds 0 ints, 1 int at the most, we should be able to win this game. The Chargers, though ranked in the top 3 in both offense and defense, are also very inconsistent. 2 weeks ago, they got shattered by Oakland, then they come out and destroy the Chiefs, this won't be any cakewalk for them either.
If I remember correctly, it was 4 years ago to the Thursday Night game this week that Alex had a defining moment in a thursday night game @ Seattle when he was in his 2nd year. Nothing coincidental, but he does have the talent to pull out these wins, especially on prime time. And if he can lead us to this win, which i don't think is a HUGE if, he can cement a legacy by leading us to the playoffs, but it can only be cemented by what he shows in that playoff game. This game isn't just big for our season, but huge for Alex, shut up the critics and just play ball dude. (then again if he has a bad game i won't be surprised lol). Go Alex Smith! Go Niners!
Niner Nation, rep us well down there and make it feel like a home game.

Right on man, I believe this is a winnable game also because of SD's inconsistencies

points allowed
They’re also 18th in points allowed. The ranking is the same in this instance, but I’d argue points allowed is a better indicator than yards allowed.

I meant points..
not yards. Don’t have the YPP, which is another good indicator. But they climbed out of the cellar fast, but they also played some bad teams. They were almost at bottom in both points scored and allowed weeks ago.

Yay for positivity
Dammit, 49ers. I angrily gave up on you when you lost to the Panthers, but here you are.. dragging me right back in.
Screw it: WIN OUT, GET 8 WINS, WIN THE DIVISION, AND MAKE A PLAYOFF RUN! WOO!
… Ah crap… setting myself up for disappointment all over again. At least I only have to wait 2 days to know if they will have a chance to win out or not..
Go Niners.

I know.
I hate it. I wanted Singletary’s head after the Carolina debacle, but now here we are, knocking on the door of our first playoff run in 8 years. Gotta get juiced for that (then squirt).
