Now before you jump all over me on this. Hear me out. I believe we should go after Donovan McNabb in order to mentor in a young QB(whom we would draft this year). We have the pieces in place for him to come in and make plays. If we get him. There would be a great shot at Westbrook coming back. God knows no one in the world knows how to use Brian Westbrook better than McNabb. Add that to Gore's power running and we've already got a killer backfield attack. IN the WCO that we so desperately want to get back to. We have all the proper guys in place. Crabtree would do well from a well delivered ball in which he has TIME to accumulate some YAC. We have TWO TE's with receiving capabilites, and we have possession receivers in Morgan and (god forbid he catches the ball) Tedd Ginn. I'm not saying Kolb is a great QB, but he sure isn't as bad as David Carr, or even Alex Smith for that matter. Donovan had to have mentored him in some way, shape, or form. Donovan can help us usher in a new Era. I don't see him as a long term fix. It's obvious the situation in Washington is far from just on-field issues. I know it seems like it's the same way here, but I'm hoping that isn't the case. A new set of coaches paired with a vet that could help lead our young players could be what we need. Granted, I'd rather have Jeff Garcia, but hey Donovan could work out(short term). Anyone else on board for this, or should we just get O-line, secondary, and a late round QB?
Should the 49ers try to get Donovan McNabb to mentor in a new QB?
