This goes out to Takeo...(and one regard to Alex)

Takeo Spikes, thank you for everything, as it's the end of the 3 yr contract we signed you too. As I watched every game this season from start to finish, he showed the most heart, the most effort(even more than P-Dub), and won me over as my favorite defensive player on this team. If anything, as a lot of us have said, that he deserves to make the playoffs. Even though I love having him on our team, anchoring our defense along with willis, I wish we could lend him to the Eagles just for the playoffs, so he could have a chance to play there and maybe win a Super Bowl. He'd make plays that I thought he wouldn't at his age, because he still had a little quickness, making physical and tough tackles. Patrick Willis always says how much of an influence Takeo has been on this team, and I think it's safe to say he was one of the very few bright spots on this team. My favorite play by him this year, was against Tampa Bay, 2nd and goal I think, we're down 14-0, 4th quarter, and the game's pretty much over if they score any points because our offense was doing nothing. Legarrete Blount jumps up and looks like he has a td, but TKO meets him in the air and knocks him to the ground, and Spikes was absolutely pumped up, trying to energize our D, basically showing how much he puts in to every snap, no matter what the score, always trying to win. Thank you Takeo(even if you're not reading this, which probably not), but Takeo Spikes has served his time very well as a 49er, and it's sad that it's probably done. Thanks Takeo.

And Alex, who probably won't be back with this team, I hope he goes to another team and becomes a star, and tears it up.

Agreed

Hate him or love him, what we did to Alex over the years is downright garbage.

I hope Takeo hangs around after seeing who our new coach will be.

Well said

I think the best place for alex is in San Diego or where ever Norv goes, he played his best football with Norv as his OC. I hope Alex plays up to his potential whatever team he goes to

Props to Willis and TKO as they kept this defense strong, even with their broken hands.

I hope that Gore comes back healthy as ever and we draft another RB to takeover after he goes downhill. Aswell as Adams, who today had a horrible injury that FOX thankfully didn`t replay, hopefully he doesn`t lose his agility.

I think Bamm Bamm would go on a rampage if you tried that , or he would just try to sneak back on the field…One thing about a lot of our guys, Playing with injuries is just not stopping some of our guys, Gore, Willis, Takeo, Staley and many others..Hide all their helmets till practice next season..Could you imagine if Staley was still playing these last few days..He had only allowed 2 sacks this whole season. I cant wait for next year to see a healthy Oline for whatever QB we have

Mark my words

Alex will be a successful QB in this league. He could still be successful in SF if given the chance. I would like to keep him around and let him compete with whoever we get next year cause there are no guarantees we will find a bradford like qb next season. Plus give nate davis a shot and lets see what he can do against arizona. The only QB im willing to part with at this time is T. Smith cause a below 50 percent completion percentage just aint going to cut it.

It could work

but I don’t know if Alex will want to be back. Troy Smith is not a solution and Nate Davis will be number 3 next year behind Smith and another QB (either FA or Draft) and not necessarily Smith as number 1, or if Alex doesn’t want to stay, a veteran QB (Palmer?) and Draft QB.

Smart money would be on none of our 4 QBs returning next year

If any of the QBs do return, Alex is the most likely. Sure Davis is still under contract, but he’s not good and he’ll be cut, just like Carr.

yeah

Yeah your right about the smart money but I still want to see davis get a shot before i can say he sucks, you never know great QB’s sometimes come out of no where. Plus im pretty sure a good qb oriented coach like mcdaniels could make alex and nate way better than they are right now. Hopefully we get someone who can actually groom a QB cause the last few seasons we have only had qb killers on our coaching staff.

Davis lacks the work ethic required and his learning disability scares me

If we pin our hopes on him for next year, we can look forward to the #1 overall pick in 2012.

IM SO SCARED RIGHT NOW

um, not!

It bothers me that people view dyslexia as some serious, crippling disability. I mean, line up 9 normal guys and 1 dyslexic and tell me who can tell. Davis needs to learn a bit more experientially (sp) than most, but obviously has had the capacity to absorb the nuances of the QB position before. He deserves a chance to compete, at least. We must have seen SOMETHING we liked when we drafted him.

No more mock draft sig for now...

we dont have to pin our hopes on him

but we can certainly give him a chance to show what he can do, hopefully he starts this sunday.

Old school easy fix for dyslexia

left shoe red, right shoe gold. tag your plays either Red or Gold depending on the direction. Boom! Problem solved. Come on folks, this is a High School remedy.
