I have a serious question that I think should be discussed before this offseason begins, and I know I am not the only one who wants to ask it.  I believe it was talked about once but I am not completely sure.

What is the difference between a GM, Head Coach, and VP of Player Personnel?

Like what is Trent Baalke's job and how close are his duties to what a GM would do?  Would it be better to hire a head coach and have him pick the GM? 

It seems throughout the league different teams have different 'leaders'.  In New England there is no doubt that Belichick is in charge but with the Boys and Raiders the owners rule all.

So could someone please explain what the duties of each position is?
