The Dreadlocks of Doom, also known as Chad Jones is a Strong Safety who punishes Wide Receivers. Jones all year has been a menacing force in the secondary for the Tigers. Jones has some solid tangibles but his speed is a lurking concern. His range has it's limits.
He is the same size as a player similar to Taylor Mays but since he lacks the speed may be considered as an Outside Linebacker candidate. There have been a few players that have made the switch at the next level and fairly well. Jones may have to consider that.
Jones made the decision to leave school early this year and declare for the 2010 NFL Draft. By alot of the experts, Jones is considered to be selected somewhere in between 2nd and 3rd Rounds. Although, if he does poorly at the Combine, he could fall in dramatic fashion.
Out of all three years, his Junior year, this past season, was his best. He racked up 71 Tackles and 3 Interceptions.
It will be very interesting to see Chad Jones' 40-time among a few other drills and his overall performance once the Combine is in the books. He is definitely one of those guys who has a lot to gain as well as a lot to lose.
Below, we'll look at Jones' stats, a few highlights, and provide a projection as to where he could end up.
There is only one hit here, but it displays Jones' ability to knock a wide receiver in to the middle of the following week.

SUMMARY AND PROJECTIONS:
Jones as mentioned above will have to make up for his lack of speed issue some how. You can fix technique and you can fix other things but you can't fix lack of speed. Positioning yourself in the right spots can anly take you so far. I think there are enough limitations here to potentially hold him back.
Possibilities -- 2nd Round; 49-64, 3rd Round 65-95.
