Around SBN: Celtics, Heat Score On Purpose In Super Sunday Wins

49ers 2011 Super Bowl Odds

As always happens, we've got Super Bowl Odds for 2011 already set up.  Obviously it's way to soon to know, but it's still fun to check them out.  I've posted the entire list after the jump, with the NFC West teams bolded and underlined.

The 49ers open as 45-1 to win the 2011 Super Bowl.  To give this a little bit of context, they opened last year as 60-1 favorites to win the 2010 Super Bowl.  Around the rest of the NFC West, the Cardinals are 35-1, the Seahawks are the same as the 49ers at 45-1, and the Rams sit at 100-1.  I'm a bit surprised the Seahawks are the same as the 49ers, but I guess maybe people think they'll bounce back somewhat.

Star-divide

Indianapolis Colts                                   13/2

They think the Cards are still better than the Niners? Some people are about to get surprised…

Andy Lee for MVP! Hey, that rhymes...

I found that a little surprising as well. The only player that made Arizona relevant is now gone. Also the Giants being as high as they are is surprising too.

Not exactly

They think that the public thinks that the Cards are still better than the Niners. In other words, if you took a poll of the betting public, more people will say “the Cards will win the Super Bowl” than “the Niners will win the Super Bowl”.

There's always a chance.

What we've got here is a failure to communicate.

sometimes I feel like Lloyd in Dumb and Dumber

when he asks Mary what the chances are of a guy like her and a girl like her him ending up together and she says one out of a million and he’s like “so you’re telling me there’s a chance YEAH!”

awful

the patriots stand at the #3 odds, the steelers at the #4 odd (even missing the playoffs) and the BEARS have a higher chance?

the texans and panthers should be up in the 25/1 or 30/1 category

DREAM DRAFT:
1a. Anthony Davis, OT, Rutgers
1b. CJ Spiller, RB, Clemson
2. Best CB available
3. Freddie Barnes, WR, Bowling Green

Well, the Saints were 8-8 in 2008 and won it all the next year,so I suppose it is possible.
If alex plays 100 times better (or nate davis takes over eartly)and the O line can block better for the run.Possible but certainly not probable.

Some really terrible odds.

I wouldn’t mind putting $100 on the 49ers right now.

What we've got here is a failure to communicate.

More evidence of the Seahawk love I've been hearing

45 to 1 odds on the 49ers aren’t that bad. If I’m in Vegas for the summer I might actually throw some money down on that sucker bet.

I don’t think the Cardinals are dead in the water with Leinhart but I think they will take a step back next year. He’s going to take his lumps even if he does develop. It’s not just Warner, the Cardinals should lose a handful of key players this offseason.

The Seahawk love is a bit strange. Someone brought it up yesterday, but they have a ton of holes in that roster. It’s going to take more than a coaching change.

The 49ers should win the division. So essentially it’s 45 to 1 odds on a probable playoff team.

odd odds

If Arizona is the highest odds team in the NFC West, and they’re slotted 16th overall, how do these odds even make sense? Any team chosen to win their division already has odds above all but 11 teams. I understand that the probability is purely based off of fairing well after getting in to the playoffs, but you gotta be in it to win it.
