100 in 100: Ed Dickson (59 of 100)
Ed Dickson was a pass catching Tight End for the Oregon Ducks. His size contributed to him not being a very good blocker but he gave what effort he could anyway. He is however, extremely quick out of his realease as well as his breaks in his routes. If he can pack on a few extra pounds, and learn blocking technique a bit better at the next level, he has a shot at being a really good Pro Tight End.
In Dickson's freshman year, he was recruited originally to be a defensive end and was redshirted. The following year Dickson was converted to a Tight End due to the lack of size to play defensive end... even in the Pac 10 where defensive players can be on the smaller side from time to time. Throughout his career at Oregon, he has been a big contributing factor to the offense. His most notable game was against Cal this past season where he racked up 11 catches for 148 yards and 3 touchdowns which helped Oregon to a 42-3 victory. He followed that performance against Washington State with 7 catches for 103 yards and a touchdown which Oregon won 52-6. After that, he contributed at a steady pace and finisheded the season with 42 catches, 551 yards, and 6 touchdowns.
Below, we'll look at highlights, stats, and a projection of where he could end up in the draft.
This is the video of the game against Cal where Dickson exploited the Golden Bears defense in every way. But again, you'll see that Dickson has a tough time holding his blocks.

SUMMARY AND PROJECTION:
Dickson had a very good combine and was a top-performer in the 40-yard dash, bench press, vertical jump and broad jump possibly elevating his draft status a bit. It will be taken in to consideration his weakeness in being a factor in the run game. He also has trouble concetrating on targets while in traffic which comes down to a lack of bravery, something that may or mat not be able to be fixed. With all considered though, at the end of the day, Dickson will be a contributor in the receiving aspect for an offense. He is 6'4" 249 LBS.
Possibilities -- 3rd Round: Picks 65-95, 4th Round: Picks 96-112.

I live in portland
So i get to see alot of oregon games dickison could be a good weapon at times and at times he would drop the pass at the biggest moment. But one thing i could never forget ed was at the combine and it was going horrible he was dropping everything in the drills lol and you could see ‘’ that it was killing him ’’’ and dude was actually cursing while running the drills if you got the footage take a look lol ,and i kept wondering if this was a game could he leta few drops ruin the rest of you’re game. But in all he’s good dude i know its alot of pressure while you’re basically working out 4 the entire NFL so i don’t want 2 rag on him that hard and i do think he could become a really good weapon if used the right way .
Bravery
He might be able to learn something about that by watching film of Brent Jones. His field skills apparently carried over to the combine pretty accurately. Don’t know who could benefit with him most though. Denver maybe??

As an Oregon Fan (and Niner fan), Let me show you some highlights from last year
Dickson is number 83.
Oregon puts a lot of emphasis on blocking for their WRs and TEs, so I think there may be a misconception about Ed’s blocking skills. In fact the motto for the Ducks is “No block, no rock” and as you can see Dickson saw the rock quite a bit throughout the season for a run-heavy offense. Check out some highlights that first came to mind:
Blocking:
Down in the Civil War with the Rose Bowl on the line on National TV, Dickson seals off the inside then releases outside to block the CB, springing LaMichael James for a 50+yd. TD run and to take the lead.

A few plays earlier, Dickson blows the DE (#19) off the line to help LeGarrette Blount get the edge and score a key TD.

Big time catches (aka clutch):
From the Arizona game, which was on National TV, lose and you’re relegated to the Holiday Bowl, win and you’re 1 game away from the Rose Bowl and Pac-10 title.
Game-tying TD with 6 seconds left:

Key catch in 2OT that set up the winning TD run 2 plays later:
