Explanation:
Sam Bradford was magnificent in 2008, had he declared he would have been the No.1 overall pick.
Unfortunately he suffered two shoulder injuries in 2009. However, if he can overcome those injuries, he’s still the same guy he was in 2008.

WITH THE 2ND SELECTION OF THE 2010 DRAFT, THE DETROIT LIONS SELECT RUSSEL OKUNG (OT) OKLAHOMA
Member of the legendary David Carr thread, 6 March 2010
The Lions have a far greater need at LT than they do at DE or DT
By picking Okung here they can protect their $70 million investment. They can slide Backus inside to LG and kill two birds with one stone
Member of the legendary David Carr thread, 6 March 2010
Great selection

by SportsChicken on Mar 13, 2010 11:08 AM PST up reply actions
Yep some would be against it ..with Suh and McCoy on the board but great fit of needs.
Balanced draft with offensive emphasis. Pick 13 CJ Spiller 17 to Chargers 28 DI/DET Jared Odrick 48 WR Demaryius Thomas 60 S Reshad Jones
79 Jared Valdheer 110 OG Marshall Newhouse 141 CB Akwasi Owusu Ansah 172 OLB O'Brien Schoffield 208 FB Manase Tonga (He and Britt Miller can swap off and one play blocking TE and one FB)

I think you messed up a fair number of boards by taking okung number 2 instead of taking a DT
by HaloFanInDC on Mar 13, 2010 11:11 AM PST up reply actions
Messed up?
OT is a bigger need than DT.
An OT like Okung gives DET a very good OL (since Backus can move to LG).
Remember that the Lions already acquired a DT in FA
What we've got here is a failure to communicate.
by SportsChicken on Mar 13, 2010 11:17 AM PST up reply actions
He’s not saying that Detroit messed up. just that lots of peoples boards suddenly got thrown out of whack because of the selecion
Member of the legendary David Carr thread, 6 March 2010
Yeah….sorry, i reread it and it’s kind of ambiguous….i meant the team boards are not going as many of the pundits have planned.
I think it’s a great pick and what Detroit should do
by HaloFanInDC on Mar 13, 2010 11:19 AM PST up reply actions
had a quick debate since I think McCoy might be a better fit as a 3-technique in Tampa’s defense, but in the end I had to go with the best player on the board (and arguably in the draft)

Balanced draft with offensive emphasis. Pick 13 CJ Spiller 17 to Chargers 28 DI/DET Jared Odrick 48 WR Demaryius Thomas 60 S Reshad Jones
79 Jared Valdheer 110 OG Marshall Newhouse 141 CB Akwasi Owusu Ansah 172 OLB O'Brien Schoffield 208 FB Manase Tonga (He and Britt Miller can swap off and one play blocking TE and one FB)

Tough choice…particularly since McCoy wouldn’t be very good in the 3-4….i might have been tempted to take JPP here as an OLB/DE rusher
by HaloFanInDC on Mar 13, 2010 11:17 AM PST up reply actions
Yeah, I didn’t even consider McCoy. Someone below me is dancing. JPP is too raw for a top 5 pick. If I were the Chiefs, I would want an impact player as opposed to a project.
Berry’s ready to play now and fills a need.
I agree….I think Berry is just too good to pass up considering everyone else on the board and the particular needs of the Chiefs
by HaloFanInDC on Mar 13, 2010 11:20 AM PST up reply actions
I don’t see that happening in the real draft.
Oh well.
What we've got here is a failure to communicate.
by SportsChicken on Mar 13, 2010 11:18 AM PST up reply actions
With no Okung or Suh, I didn’t see them going for Bulaga. I feel like they may have traded down for someone who wanted McCoy.
WITH THE 6TH SELECTION OF THE 2010 DRAFT, THE SEATTLE SEAHAWKS SELECT GERALD McCOY (DT) OKLAHOMA
If God had intended us not to rosterbate, he would've made our arms shorter.
That took longer than I expected. Considering the type of 4-3 PC runs, McCoy is the perfect DT for his defense

Who do you guys think since it seems like he’s not?
"If you're not first, you're last" -Reese Bobby.
Jags need CB help and safety help.
so I’d go with Taylor Mays. Maybe a top WR like Dez Bryan since they have no offensive weapons anymore. (Their leading receiver last year was TOrry Holt)
Member of the legendary David Carr thread, 6 March 2010
of course. Had to roll the Te-Bow chant.

Intersting nugget:
The Jags FO sent a letter to all Jags Season Ticket holders asking them if they wanted Tebow to be drafted by their team.
Apparently it was 55-45 in favor of Tebow.

After signing Kampman, Jag fans either wanna trade back or grab Spiller. Personally, I think Sean Weatherspoon would be a perfect fit here, but I’ll say Spiller.
don’t need a COP back there so I can’t see them getting Spiller
Member of the legendary David Carr thread, 6 March 2010

But I don’t see how Spiller complements MJD

Walter Football has them taking Dez Bryant. Take that for what it’s worth.
by David Fucillo on Mar 13, 2010 11:28 AM PST up reply actions
JPP could still be an option even though they brought in Kampman.
Possibly Earl Thomas.
Maybe Dez Bryant.
I’m going to say JPP because they only had 14 team sacks and Kampman alone isn’t going to bring it up to 40 something (where it should be).

yeah Jimmy Raye is clearly the offensive genius who’d be able to make use of Spiller’s skill…..let’s see….how about run up the middle 5 times in a row

WITH THE 14TH SELECTION OF THE 2010 DRAFT, THE SEATTLE SEAHAWKS SELECT CHARLES BROWN (OT) USC
If God had intended us not to rosterbate, he would've made our arms shorter.
wow…sort of surprising early for Brown. I don’t think it’s a terrible pick, but still with Trent Williams still on the board it seems like a reach

I think Brown is a better fit than Williams.
But why not Earl Thomas?
